What are you currently playing?

I only did main story/assassination targets for like the last 30-35 hours and I still clocked 90 total hours for the damn game.

Insufferable

Doesnt help that the missions are the same for every damn region.

I only did the story arcs but I still have the Asgard/Ancients to complete but meh and I guessed who the main leader of the Order of the Ancients was and was right when I looked it up. Other than the story arcs, I did every viewpoint so I could fast travel and I did every Raid since I needed the materials for the Settlement.

On normal difficulty, I completed the last story arc at power level 244 despite the recommended level being 340. I really hate the power level garbage. Wish they kept it 0-30 and that’s it. But oh well.

On to the expansion tomorrow so I can be all caught up.

Flew all the way to New Zealand and still no Death’s Door :frowning:

Did I already say I’m playing Dark Souls 3 again? With so much backlog, I shouldn’t have. Bought the DLC to justify the extra playthrough. Almost done. Game experience is superior with a stable 60fps. I originally beat it on the OG Xbox One…and that was tough. The Dancer was 10x easier without the frame fluctuation.

I’m really just messing around in a few games currently, waiting patiently for The Ascent to release.

Started a NG+ run through Jedi: Fallen Order but then I remembered it has a free next gen upgrade, so I should probably save it for when I finally get my Series X.

Tried Dying Light but it wasn’t for me. Nice visuals but kinda dull gameplay & after Mirror’s Edge & this, I now realise that I really don’t like first-person parkour games.

Finished another character’s playthrough in Skyrim. Main Quest, Dawnguard & Dragonborn. Had created a Gandalf character this time. No armour, sword in one hand, destruction or restoration spell in the other. Secondary skills were speechcraft & potion making. It was great fun. Think I’ll continue to explore with this character for a while.

Can’t wait for The Ascent.

Bloodroot. What a gem of a Game Pass game.

I’m currently playing a ROM hack of Pokemon Platinum called Renegade Platinum. I’m only one gym in, but I don’t know that I could ever play regular Platinum again. Renegade Platinum makes a whole lot of changes that make it so much better.

You get the National Dex immediately, so you have way more Pokemon to choose from than the original. Many Pokemon’s movesets and stats have been changed to make almost every Pokemon in the game useful. You get 99 copies of every TM so you don’t have to worry about wasting a TM on a Pokemon you might ditch later in the playthrough when something better comes along. And the game is much faster, from your character’s movespeed to the battle animations.

All the changes give you the freedom to constantly optimize and switch up your team without worrying about the sunk cost fallacy (i.e. I used all my good TMs on this Nidoking, I can’t get rid of him now) or your ability to find another Pokemon that can fill the same niche (since not only are there all the Pokemon up to Gen IV to choose from, but they added Gen V and VI as well).

They compensated for all of this by making the game harder than regular Platinum. Like I said, I’m only one gym in, but I’ve had my team wiped two or three times during trainer battles. It’s not super hard, but it’s a better challenge than anything official Pokemon games have given me… maybe ever? Especially the most recent gens.

I am playing Streets of Rage 4 and it’s addicting af mode that is Survival. After the new DLC SoR4 is such an amazing package, a lot of content and the most important thing really high quality content…Survival besides being so fuckin’ great and fun it’s really an infinitely replayable mode. This game really exceeded even the most optimistic expectations I think…SoR4 is a masterpiece of a game.

Also playing Death’s Door which is also freakin’ awesome, amazing really what a team of two guys achieved here…game looks excellent, plays excellent, level design is great and the pacing is sublime. If I have one compaint about the game is how it performs on the One X, frame-rate is highly inconsistent especially in the bigger outdoor areas (things are better in the dungeons) and sometimes the stuttering can be distracting (I’d even say that a 30fps lock option could be a good choice)…I don’t want to even think how this runs on an old One S if it runs like this on the One X. Besides this small compaint the game is amazingly good so far, really really enjoying it.

Currently playing AC Unity, the atmosphere is stunning in this one. Wish new AC games were more like this. Planning on playing Ghost of a Tale next.

Finished the main story in the Wrath of the Druids expansion for AC Valhalla. It was good but not great and so many issues with Valhalla compared to Origins & Odyssey.

May play The Lost Gods expansion for Immortals Fenyx Rising as it’s the last gaming content in my backlog excluding Cyberpunk 2077 which im not playing until the current generation upgrade releases.

If not, I will just wait for The Ascent.

Playing Cris Tales and Splitgate right now while waiting for the Acent. Cris Tales has been okay some of the choices are fun wish I would have saved before the first one so I could knock it the achievements as I went but o well. Splitgate is a halo rip off but with portals and it is surprisingly fun. I believe I read it is only 4 people making it. But serve issues make it tough to play hence pairing it with another game.

I’ve finished watch dogs legions on series x with next gen update. The city looks awesome with Ray tracing. The game is okay the story also but @ the end of the day it’s the typical ubisoft (improved) formula improved. The good thing is that you don t have to hardcore grind to level up like in Assasins creed odyssey. But know I m bit saturated with open world games…

I ve started doom eternal again but its a bit stressful, maybe I m bit too old for😂

I’ve been playing Persona 5 Strikers. They have done an amazing job making this feel more like Persona 5 than a musou game.

Also… this might sound crazy but, the city parts of this game really make me wish they could build the world out to be more Yakuza-like. Would probably be a massive undertaking, but it’s pretty jarring to go from a city in Yakuza to a city in Persona haha.

Splitting time between Metro Exodus and Death Door while I wait for The Ascent.

@Der_Baxy Im the #1 Watch Dogs hater but I really enjoyed Legions.

I’ve been trying to knock out the shorter new GP games, beat Bloodroots and Raji, currently playing Last Stop. Omno and The Ascent will likely follow, then maybe Cris Tales. Goodnight that’s too many games!

As far as other stuff not on GP, I’ll try to get to Death’s Door, Returnal (library yay!), and New Pokémon Snap (library double yay!).

Off topic, my top 5 this year that I’ve played are Chicory, Hitman 3, Resident Evil Village, Persona 5 Strikers, and Monster Hunter Rise.

Way too much stuff. Got a hair up my ass that I want to get all the achievements in a bunch of games I’ve beat several times but don’t have all the achievements for.

Final fantasy 7 original flavor Dark souls 3 Skyrim Fallout 4 Metro Last Light Jedi fallen order

My PS5 game is TLOU2 collectible replay for the plat.

Replaying Assassin’s Creed Origins. Finished the Siwa opening region. Will play through the game until The Ascent next weekend and will then go back to Origins once I complete The Ascent.

Compared to Valhalla, Origins is such an excellent game. A few things I don’t like but compared to Valhalla, it’s near perfect.
