What are you currently playing?

I’m slowly playing through Far Cry on Steam. It’s surprisingly hard but it’s great. Unfortunately, for some reason, this version is not as polished as the Xbox version.

Welcome! Far Cry was quite a game for the times, and while the second half of the game has its issues, it was quite the experience.

As for me, I’m playing the new Call of Duty, still playing Tetris Effect Connected, clearing small indies here and there, playing Rocket League as it always happens, and going on with some single player stuff like Fallen Order and Bright Memory, albeit very slowly.

Gears Tactics and Doom Eternal are the games Im playing right now. Katana Zero en Hotshot Racing i also still need to finish, but Gears Tactics is a time consuming game!

Thanks to Quick Resume and lightning fast load/fast travel, I’m merrily replaying AC Odyssey, FF15, Forza 7, Gears 5, GR Wildlands, Far Cry 5, all at the same time!!! This is in stark contrast to September/October where I had got so pi$$ed off with the One X that I’d limited myself to playing PES and Battlefront 2.

This superb machine gives all my games new life, and makes me wonder how I lived with those abusive load times. Can’t imagine how it must be for people that went straight from VCR Xbox Onre, rather than the X.

At the moment my active game list consists of: PUBG, Planet Coaster, Tetris Effect, AC Valhalla.

Loving quick resume to bounce in and out of games fast. Planning to jump back into FH4/Gears5 and RDR2 soon (when i manage to get more hours in the day).

Yakuza Like a Dragon and Tetris effect. These are amazing launch games for the system even though they’re available on last gen.

Going through AC: Odyssey and Falconeer at the moment.

Played a bit of Gears Tactics, enjoyed it but not in love yet.

Played a bit of Wasteland 3 and LOVED it so far. Game is a bit…rougher than I was expecting, but still very good.

Once I get my console sharing up with brother I’ll be playing Observer redux.

I’m currently playing the latest God of War while I wait for my SX to arrive. I’m not a fan of Sony 's blueprint of games, but gee, I am hooked to the tits with this game.

Watch Dogs Legion is my first real next-gen game  It‘s pretty nice but I enjoyed Watch Dogs 2 a lot more, TBH. That save bug is BAD. I now save after every little quest progress because once you log several hours, you risk being stuck in the menu screen when the game tries to save. Mind-boggling to me as to why the game doesn’t autosave in game more often and also as to how this bug could have gone unnoticed during QA.

Finished Darksiders 3 recently. Completed the title on Series X. The reduced input latency and the constant 60 fps really made the game shine and I felt like in total control over Fury. Enjoyed Darksiders 1 with its stronger Zelda-like puzzles more though. 3 has a great 3D Metroidvania feel to it though.

My Xbox still hasn’t come, but my PS5 just did.

Demon’s Souls, Spidey Remastered and Astrobot for now. Hopefully Bugsnax, Miles and Sackboy soon, and the back catalog.

Deep into Assassin’s Creed right now but picked up Valiant Hearts on sale last week and have heard good things about it so going to dip into that later this week. Hoping for a nice black friday sale to get a few games there as well.

This is obviously just my opinion, but if you love The Outer Worlds then Peril on Gorgon is a great piece of DLC. It could be recency bias, but this side story may be the most interesting one in the whole game. I was pleasantly surprised at the high level of reactivity of the companions to all of the story beats in this DLC.

Jedi Fallen Order will be next.

I just finished final fantasy XV. The first final fantasy I’ve ever finished. I almost finished 8 when it first came to pc but I got a game breaking bug near the end. XV was surprisingly fun but photos Prompto took during the game didn’t survive the transfer to the series X. I played a little bit of Halo which plays MUCH better with a wider FOV. I’ve gone back and restarted Ori which looks fantastic on the new box and I’m playing occasional bouts of Tetris effect. Meanwhile my son has been playing the new stages they added to human fall flat.

Quick resume has held up in all those games and has definitely felt like the most next gen feature.

I have downloaded gears tactics, the new destiny expansion, planet coaster and no man’s sky’s next gen version but haven’t got round to playing them. I have no idea why people think there are no games to play. Also every one of those games is on game pass. Every time I get jealous of Miles or Demon’s Souls I think how much more money I would be spending to have a similar experience. Game pass really is the killer app for me.

I’ve continued to distract myself from playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps (you can thank Tetris Effect and Sea of Thieves for that), but I’m hoping to make some meaningful progress this weekend.

Speaking of Sea of Thieves, after another round of it, I may be becoming a bit infatuated. I suspect my interest will not be everlasting, but if there’s anyone searching for another crewmate, keep me in mind.

Playing Ori now after finishing JFO, and I’m probably going to pick up Control UE at $20

dont play sea of thieves alone! unfortunate Im in a big crew already and we speak german soo there is that ;D but try to find some plebs to go with!

On my second night of playing, I teamed up with a stranger and we had a pretty successful run. It was nice, and I learned a lot. Until I find a more regular group to play with, if that ever happens, I’ll continue to play that way, I suppose.

I’m playing COD Cold War, Watch Dogs Legion and Assasins Creed Valhalla. I can strong recommend COD for anyone who likes the very old school boots on the ground style games. It’s very similar IMO to black ops 2. Really enjoying it. Turn off ray tracing for multiplayer as with RT on there are some weird bugs and also it doesn’t seem to do much, I believe it is just a shadows thing. In campaign it looks great with RT on.

Also Assasins creed Valhalla is really good, having a great time roaming the English countryside. Personally my favourite AC game.

Watch Dogs has some really really stunning elements, the city is beautiful and hijacking a drone ans flying round it is a truly magical experience. The problems lie when you think how repetitive the gameplay is, and how dead the city feels on the ground. Every corner someone is being abused in the same way, someone is just walking past and drones are circling. But it feels a bit old school in how the world reacts to you.

Yeah, I love Wasteland 3 but there are some odd areas of the game which don’t seem to work as expected, there’s one area which results in the audio breaking up, it returns to normal when you walk out of that area. I’ve not played it on XSX yet. I think Gears Tactics is turn-based like Wasteland 3? So yeah, that will be on my download queue soon.

As for me, I’m been bouncing from game to game lately, mainly playing Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 on XSX. Brought Star Wars Squadrons in the sale and had a quick play with that, had fun with Tetris, tried to be Tom Cruise in Ace Combat 7 (thank you Game Pass), went back to Elite Dangerous (which has some…interesting Quick Resume issues - aka Time Travel  ) …will probably do more driving in Forza Horizon 4 and maybe Forza 7 later.

So yeah, I’m quite busy and happy with my ‘underperforming, no exclusives, doom-gloom screen-tearing console’ and I’m having a lot of fun with it. :+1:
