Robohands, a one-man jazz band had recently released an album called Violet. His music usually has a jazzy, chill, atmospheric vibe, and while I think his new album is fine (I’ll probably give it another listen), I don’t think it’s quite as good as his debut album called Green. What I like so much about Green is the more soulful, rainy, and sometimes somber tone the album has. Very much a “rainy day” album for me and it’s one of my favorites.
I saw NIN on that tour. It was very good.
Just heard this on the radio. It is banging.
and this is haunting.
Gonna cover the real old, the old, and the new:
My niece is getting into Billy Joel even though he predates her by decades, cool to see.
So of course I get them stuck in my head as she shares them. Oh and she said this sounds like a Weezer song and now I’m thinking BJ is probably a Weezer influence, I didn’t notice that before.
Also a song that brings a lot of memories just because of when I first heard it nearly 20 years ago, and I forgot the name of the song and couldn’t find it and found it by fluke:
And finally I’m a fan of Technikore and missed out on his recent releases:
I dig this track but the lyrics are ehhh which a trap I feel vocal uplifting Trance/dance/hardcore falls into:
Hommarju has some new tracks out this month but I’m all about this (relatively tame compared to the rest of his stuff) no-nonsense freeform track, pretty old school sounding:
I’ve always thought that Lordi’s The Riff was possibly heavily inspired by Let’s Go.
They should really play Let’s Go at hockey games or sporting events.
Yeah it sure sounds like an inspiration! Ministry should be played everywhere actually haha, just imagine the chaos if Let’s Go played in a shopping mall.
Songs of a Lost World their first new studio album in 14 years should hopefully get released before the European tour starts
That would be great.
Triptides is a psychedelic rock band that usually has a surf rock vibe. With their latest album, So Many Days, they seemed to have toned down the “surf rock” a bit for a sound that’s more grounded. Even with the change I still like their music.
Just recorded another DJ set with timecode vinyl:
Minimal, tech and deephouse. I’m just mixing as a hobby so hope it’s not seen as shameless self promotion, just sharing good music in mediocre mixing quality.
