What AAA titles should Xbox try and get on Game Pass for the First Half of 2022?

Yes, it’s True but It depends on what you are going to offer. There are different deals.

This pretty much sums up the situation perfectly. Microsoft needs to be very aggressive. Even if they have to overpay, so be it.

Personally, I see Sony doing a year clause for every marketing deal that they do which prevents that game from going into Game Pass until that year clause expires. Makes sense for Sony though. Why pay for a marketing deal if you’re only going to be upended?

Crossfire X is a game that should be in Game Pass. I can’t see many people paying $40 which is what im expecting the price to be for the campaign. Probably won’t happen though. Evil Dead I think is close to being a given. I agree 100% with Wonderlands but it was on Sony’s PlayStation Showcase back in September so if they have a marketing deal for the game, you can forget about it for at least a year. Saints Row should be an easy decision as it does fit in due to it being co-op. Steel Rising would be great but it’s from Nacon. Do they have any games in Game Pass? As for the rest, I either don’t them happening due to having a marketing deal with Sony or the simple fact that Microsoft won’t go after them.

Sony is the market leader, they definitely pay less. And they aren’t supporting a sub service with multiple games being added multiple times a month on pc/cloud/xbox. Ridiculous post.

I’m telling you, MS isn’t being picky about what they go after… they negotiate with anyone willing to come to the table. They literally could not have as much gamepass games if they didn’t. MS negotiated with the MLB for chissake, and some posters here think they aren’t talking to every publisher.

Why would they pay less for the same thing?

Sony is excluding sales entirely on Xbox, MS is excluding SOME of the sales on Xbox while paying for the costs first hand.

Why would they make it more expensive when it’s so easy a deal? Free money while keeping all the benefits.

Idk Its been 4 years of GP already I kinda have an idea of the stuff they add or not.

Matt Booty explained in some interview (sorry but i can’t Remember where) that there could be very approches with publishers and studios. It’s not a only Money matter.

Greedfall is

Because they are the market leader… what do you think that entails. More sales= have to pay less for publishing deals etc. to put it simply. But that’s not even an issue, regarding gamepass deals MS is obviously willing to spend a ton of money, and they have. But that doesn’t mean every publisher will be willing to release their games on the service… it takes two to tango.

I think yall have this idea that Microsoft is being forced to pay like 10times the amount required.

Microsoft is playing catch up they need to invest more than their rivals.

Sorry, but this isn’t enough of a reason. Specially for next-gen only games since they don’t have the same install base as PS4 yet and WON’T have it either.

My post implies that it’s not a money matter…

In any case Nintendo IS the correct market leader and mobile games.

Because PlayStation is 2x the size of Xbox, having more consoles in more than 3 countries help and especially in the home region of the publisher/dev like FF, also good relationships. Microsoft can’t force publishers or just keep backing up dump trucks of money, another thing is if they keep just offering everyone money for game pass publishers could start asking for money just to launch the game on Xbox and take Microsoft for a ride.

If Microsoft starts handing everyone 100m’s then everyone is gonna put their hand out and ask for some cash and try take advantage of Microsoft being a trillion dollar company, just look at what Discord did when MS offered to buy them they just used them to get a valuation.

Also MS are probably scared from Tomb Raider lol.

PS5 isn’t 2x the size of Xbox, how are they dealing with next-gen only games then?

And even so size doesn’t matter since the game would be sold on playstation anyway… They aren’t losing their install base with a GP deal.

Sony pays less for what? This is not about moneyhatting exclusives, it’s about puttin games on GP.

It’s not the same thing.

GreedFall is Focus Entertainment which means that Nacon have none. I guess Steel Rising is possible but im not going to hold my breath.

Isn’t that how Sony started their relatioships with these devs though?

Look at the post i’m responding to if you’re confused.

The point I’m making is that some publishers don’t want to release their games on gamepass day 1 despite being approached by MS, we know for a fact that some publishers have rejected lucrative gamepass day 1 deals.

In fact, it’s foolish to think MS isn’t approaching every major publisher regarding gamepass deals. It’s not as simple as some of you are making it out to be.

Well most games right now are crossgen so PS4 does count, well we know Sony doesn’t like Game Pass and put clauses in contracts to not allow games go on there even just for marketing deals. We’ve also heard Sony bullying certain studios and supposedly dishing out threats if they do certain stuff. Gotta remember if Game Pass gets big with big titles like Elden Ring that hurts Sony because people might buy a new Xbox instead because of it and people who have both consoles won’t buy it on PS5.
