They do get meaningful games, you just want them to get a few specific games.
Specific meaningful releases.
Outriders, MLB The Show, multiple Destiny expansions, Mass Effect, a Plagueâs Tale, Stalker 2, R6 Extraction, and more are all meaningful games. Your own tastes donât mean theyâre not significant.
Netflix has over 214 million paying subscribers. When they had Gamepass sub numbers they werenât releasing nearly as much content.
Fwiw, I think comparing Netflix with gamepass is kind of interesting but also flawed.
I donât know fam.
This year and more specifically this H1 is really gonna be the last era of a general drought for Xbox, at scale. Just end that on a banger with one mindblowing day 1, the perfect send off to an older era and leading into a whole new one where relying on big third parties wonât be as necessary anymore. Get that one game so wild that a deal like it wonât be made again or felt a need to, because this deal represented something very specific at a very specific point in time.
Just get this done MS, no matter the cost.
âCooperative Shooters Tormenting the Serviceâ This genre is not the only one that has been added as an important/relevant game to the service since E3, just do a search.
I suspect Xbox pays EA $1 a month per Gamepass subscriber every month. 30 million subscribers is $30 million dollars every month. Itâs money well spent in my opinion and both EA and Microsoft seem happy with the deal. Iâm curious if Ubisoft could be enticed for a similar payment for their back catalogue; $1 a month for every Gamepass subscriber to Ubisoft every month.
Plagueâs tale and Stalker 2 are meaningful there⌠Well itâs your opinion, but to me thatâs very lacking.
aside of MLB and usual 4 coop shooter games, didnât gp get any big game day one on GP before ?
No thats the point
Yeah I love seeing all those AAA games that dont need a playerbase hit the service man. Can name them all.
Are you subscribed to Gamepass? If so are you unhappy with the service? Are you considering cancelling your subscription?
I dont know why people take some kind of offense when I say that game pass is plagued with games that need a playerbase and is extremely heavy on 4 player co-op games. Then I say Id like more singleplayer heavy only games or something thats big and can cause some attention to xbox
Basically all this to just mean Elden Ring, but Iâm sure that was already clear.
Sometimes I think people just donât believe the potential Xbox holds in their hands so they start to think Xbox shouldnât do somethings because âthey donât need itâ.
Theyâll always need to strive for the best, always.
If your defense is that xbox shouldnt spend X or Y amount of money to get X content because its expensive then maybe a subscription service is not the correct idea and they should have stuck to the traditional model. But we all saw how Gen 8 went and xbox had to reinvent itself in the face of annihilation.
Its not our money so what do yall care if Elden Ring is expensive. Doesnt Minecraft fund all of this? Wouldnât the ROI on putting a big game on the service thats a lock for awards (barring any disaster) be easy to recoup on subscriptions and other stuff?
Mojang money is funding PSVR2.
Ill speculate the mostly likely âbigâ Q1 gp releases will be stuff released during the 2021 holiday season. Still recent, but maybe a better value for MS.
Something like GotG.
Fixed that forâŚerrr, I meant for you. lol
