The fact that the original FFVII is on Xbox leads me to believe we’ll get the remake. It may take longer than the PC version but we’re still going to get it.
I’m the sucker that bought it at 60. Regret it because I only enjoyed kh2.
Will Xbox get the remake at some point in time? Yes. Will it get it soon? Probably not.

Who knows at this point. Sony are so desperate they’re probably throwing money at SE not to put it on xbox.

This could simply be all their devs are too busy working on upcoming games to actually have any available to circle back around to port older titles to Xbox. Its kind of a vicious circle when you have limited resources.
yall do realize that the exclusivity ending today doesn’t have to necessarily mean that Square has to announce it today assuming it’s coming right?
Assuming Sony didn’t renew the deal, and there’s nothing in the deal stating it can come to PC but not other platforms, Square can announce the ports at any time of their choosing after the exclusivity window is over.
That could be tomorrow, a week from now, E3, or even end of the year. I’d also like to remind everyone that from what I recall, the most consistent and accurate Square leaker said the game wasn’t coming to Xbox but also said her information was nearly 8 months old (this was from 2 months ago I believe). I’m not saying it’s a surefire bet that it’s coming, but I think it’s a 50/50 shot. A lot can change in 8 months.
just fuckin chill and let things play out. if Xbox|PC versions exist Square probably has a time and place to announce those and don’t be surprised if in the case of the PC port Square has already agreed with say, Epic Games (because the KH games went on EGS I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume FF7R will too) to announce at an EGS showcase, and that with Xbox they’ll announce at some Xbox event.
and as has probably been pointed out plenty of time around here, assuming nothing is stopping Square contractually from putting the game on a console that isn’t a Playstation, I would not be surprised if Square is purposefully holding up the port for a Microsoft check.
just…this panicking feels ridiculous tbh. being concerned and worried that it’s not coming over is fair, but honestly I cannot remember when the exclusivity period for a game ended and on the day it ended, the publisher came out and said it’s coming to the other platforms.

I’m not panicking. Tbh I wouldnt even care unless it’s the next gen version. I would rather have persona 5 royal anyway.
Also I dont know why people here keep repeating that Sony might have extended exclusivity for FF7R when nobody else has reported anything similar.
I would want xbox fans to have both and as a player of the original P5 I find the existence of Royal to be nonsense but thats another topic.

We should just wait to see if SE announce FF7 on Xbox or not, it’s not like they NEED to announce it because the exclusivity deal just have expired
Royal makes significant pacing and design changes to base game that make it vastly superior. Especially when it comes to sidequests and pacing of the extra dungeons and even main dungeons.
Im sorry but I dont find it worth putting in over 120 hours again just to get to the extra 10-20 hours that the final act provides with the new character.
Would be bad business on SE’s part to ignore a platform where FF15 did reasonably well on. It’s coming. I dunno why people expect the announcement HAS to be soon as the exclusivity period is up though.

That’s true. And thinking about it even more…if this is a gamepass title. It will probably come a bit after the ps5 release.
