Steeltown was delayed by a week on consoles. I was so excited to dive in this week! But if this means a better experience for console players, I am okay with that

This will be lost in the E3, Acquisition hype but Steeltown is out on Console now. I’ve just played a few minutes, and am already back into that great mood produced by playing Wasteland 3. In a year or so, people who enjoy this kind of game, but haven’t played this yet, will get to play the Complete W3 and they are going to be blown away.

One day I’ll go back to this and complete it on the hardest difficulty whilst cleaning up the last of those achievements. Will probably play the DLC when the complete edition is released and is on sale.

Has the loading times improved for XSX?

Yes, I’ve noted some difference, because I played the base game on Xbox One, and the Steeltown expansion on the Series X, and there was a noticeable improvement.

It is good that inXile is with Xbox now. They can move off that stupid Unity engine for future games, and focus on Unreal Engine 5 based development.

Unity for isometric games like Wasteland is more sensible than Unreal.

inXile wanted UE4, but they could only budget only for Unity and skillsets related to that.

The acquisition allowed them to have more specialist animators, but they were still constrained. Fargo said that this is going to change in the upcoming games with UE being the engine of choice.

I didn’t know about this, anyway with Unity you can make incredible games, like Ori for example. I agree Unreal is completely another thing for 3D games, but for isometric ones Unity is good enough

newcomer to the series here. im really enjoying it! any tips for a newbie?

Going to start a new play through when the new dlc hits. Haven’t played since launch so hoping it’s much smoother now.

Cheers.

What has been the experience on the Series X for this game? I played it on PC last year and want to start up a new playthrough with the DLC. I’m thinking of doing that on Series X. How are the load times? The stability? Are WL3 fans finding the DLC worth it?
