Once a new Pokemon game is announced with price increased and similar performance, it will still do fantastic. Not sure how I feel about that. On the surface, all hail Nintendo. Behind the curtain, evil laugh ensue.
Thatās pretty interesting. To be fair itās not unheard of to have a console with low attach rate in Japan. In the PS2 era, itās been said that the Matrix dvd was its most popular āgameā lol. So basically people are just playing Astroās Playroom I guess?
I think I read somewhere that scalpers buying and exporting PS5s is a thing in Japan, so that might be part of the explanation for the low attach rates.
That could just be a bunch of internet armchair expert speculations though, so take all that with a bunch of salt.
A member of Installbase, J-Cat, just posted a big Twitter thread about this. It is very real. Many Japanese PS5 units are being scalped to China, because Chinese PS5s are of course region locked

Note: Xboxes are in that pic too.
Damn that crazy. Scalpers must be making bank.
PS5 production is full force. This will also be an interesting year for Switch. The last Direct to me gave ā3DS dusk yearsā vibes.
Now for this:

Forspoken below Fire Emblem Engage (Forspoken includes digital, FE Engage does not)ā¦
When you think about which one costed more to develop⦠Thatās kinda rough
Letās go Dead Space!!
Iām a bit surprised the Edge controller wasnāt number 1. I mean people back then sure got their hands on Elite controllers multiple times. Maybe weak marketing?
Alright, letās throw a grenade at the elephant in the room.
Xbox is dead last in their ābiggest marketā, US. Series X stock is still messy, and the effort to āforceā the S isnāt quite panning out. Sony currently has the not-exclusive-but-marketed-like-one Hogwarts Legacy and the Switch has itās usual evergreens to keep it going. Xbox had Hi-Fi but itās not a system seller.
Is the plan to hold onto X stock until Starfield? Itās still some distance away. Anything planned between now and Redfall/Starfield (if June) to fight for some US market share? Is X stock staying down till Starfield?
Imo, yeah thatās probably the plan. As they are likely still sending Series X for Xcloud in every region as the game streaming market is something Microsoft isnāt going to let itself miss out on when it finally takes off.
I still wish they would dedicate more stock for sale though, as there are likely still millions of people on Xbox 1 looking to upgrade to Series X not S.
Is it hard to get Series X still in the US? Weāve had no supply issues for a year or so here.
I am a bit surprised they are where they are in the US this gen tbh, every time we damn foreigners dare complain itās always brought up how the US is the most important market.
Really hard to get a series X in UK. Like really tough.
Heh, you should take a ferry to Gothenburg then.
It was easier to get earlier in 2022. Today I checked and even the Microsoft website was out of stock. The only available option is AllAccess bundle with GamePass.
Iām just going off of what others have said regarding the US. As for here in Canada I just took a look at various online stores and the X is unavailable everywhere and it seems itās the same situation in the US.
I also take a look in electronic stores/sections sometimes and lately Iāve seen PS5s for the first time in real life. Havenāt seen Series X in some time though.
Heh, that is surprising. We have no issues here, the new Forza bundle is everywhere.
You can generally find Series S around here (NW Ohio), but the Series X isnāt in stock anywhere that I can find with a quick search (Walmart, Meijer, Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, etc).
God Of War PS5 bundle is available at all of them but Meijer.
Damnā¦
Xbox really needs to get their shit together with Series X stock and game releases.
