Some are confused because Xbox doing far better than anyone could have predicted put a dent into their “theory” of them going 3rd party and that’s why we dont hear any noise.
At the end of the day the PS and Ninty brand are extremelly popular (it doesnr matter that the later is 7 years old console) ps had brand power and bundles with spiderman and COD and Ninty had one of their biggest years in releases so if xbox is able to maintain an user base of 40M+/50M+ console users enough for third party companies to support, it should be enough.

Also, did you guys saw the report that put gamepass around 33M+ subscribers? (Not counting core) and that almost half of them are in the ultimate tier by the end of 2023? That seems really impressibe to me considering how “bad” they have been doing.

Last I saw it was 80% of GP subs are ultimate:

It was in some of the ABK purchase documents.
That makes all of the noise about stagnation of subs wrong because that is significant growth from the numbers we last saw. I assume of gamepass is growing
Yeah, the 33m without Core would be higher than I expected but the 55% being Ultimate seems way below what came out from the ABK stuff so I don’t think it’s accurate

“We’re seeing slowing adoption of Xbox Game Pass even though Microsoft will claim otherwise thanks to the repositioning of Xbox Live Gold as Xbox Game Pass Core,” McWhirter says. “Our forecast estimates total Xbox Game Pass subscriptions (excluding Core/Live Gold) to be at 33.3 million at the end of 2023, which represents subscriber growth of just 13% - down from 15% in 2022. Notably, over half (55%) are currently on the device-agnostic Ultimate tier
Maybe by that time gamepass subs decreased to less than 25M (remember 2022 was one of the weakest xbox years in history) and Starfield plus all the other stuff they added to 2023 gave the service a big increase? Who knows, either way, really impressive result.
Didnt MS said majority of GP subscribers pay the full sub?

Yeah, I could see it being Sony’s offering that has stagnated while Microsoft gamepass is seeing growth. I don’t think 8 million growth means stagnation
