One suspects the people moaning about any ‘ugly’ character don’t care about the hero being ‘good’ (indeed, there’s not yet been the connection made between a ‘hero’ character and ‘woke’, but I’m sure the chuds will manage sometime…)

WARNING - This is not me getting political or any of that stuff.
Some of you may have seen some hate towards the main character model.
More info has dropped and the character is a self insert by the lead designer, I will not be dropping names. This person is trans and a member of the LGBTQ community. Do not go after this person or any member of the team (that’s not cool full stop). You can google this for more information if you’d like.
I don’t want to start anything, just want everyone to be aware of the unprofessionalism afoot.

Player choices, if it’s anything at all like the previous games. One of the main things in the games is you can choose to act good or evil, kind or scary, modest or conceited, etc., and all the NPCs react appropriately to it.

I really love this. I thought the character looked extremely cool and frankly better representation in video games is really important. It’s also right in Microsoft’s wheelhouse.

The character seemed like a self-insert to me because the trailer didn’t focus on her motivations/personality and she had zero dialogue. So I think the game will either let you customize your character or select from a couple options (like AC odyssey and valhalla) or possibly even more.

I would love this. I’m not gonna lie, if I can choose a dude I will, I did that for Fable 3 too and for AC Oddysey (the few minutes I’ve played it, lol). Because with those kind of games I kinda play it as if i AM inside that character. Same with BGS, I go male.
I keep reading on other forums that it will have character creation but PG hasn’t confirmed anything, right? It’s been ages that I played the three games but I could swear that the first one had a preset character, a boy, correct? 2 I just don’t know anymore.
Did we truly had full on character creation before?

I haven’t played any of the old Fable games, so idk.
I also almost always go male because yeah I want to self-identify with the character more. The only time I regretted going male was actually AC Odyssey because it turns out the voice actress did a really superb job in that game. Almost everyone online would tell you to go female in that game.

Kinda yes kinda no. None of them had a typical character creator at the beginning. Only 3 let you choose your gender.
But once you’re in the game, you had all sorts of customization options, both direct and indirect. You could buy clothes, hairstyles, tattoos, facial hair options, and stuff like that in shops. Plus there were things like if you constantly eat, your character will get fat. If you do evil things, your character will grow devil horns. Etc. etc.
Basically they may not have full-fledged character creation, but it would be very surprising and un-Fable like if they just give us a preset character and that’s that.
Your character’s traits being the result of your actions and choices is like, the main point of the whole series.

As for Fable, it’s definitely a question I’d love an answer to but we might not get it anytime soon. I mean in the case that they DO go with one set protagonist, with the only options being different hair, and what not, then I wonder what character there’ll be for the second player. Assuming they got co-op in this, it would absolutely surprise me if there isn’t co-op in this.
This trailer did not give me the feeling we might be dealing with a RPG with MMO Lite elements (some rumor I believe there was) but at the same time it’s impossible to say. But I also believe they didn’t show this character just for fun, and we also briefly hear the voice.
Yeah, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Ideally we can choose if we want to be dude or chick, haha. But really, in the case they do have one character they have created, this one, and we can’t really change the face to our liking…it’s not the end of the world. If the character is fun, likeable, well written. Basically like Geralt, like Shepard, and so on. But my first choice would be full on character creation, because for fun I will make the biggest abomination you can imagine, lmfao.
But right now to me it seems she is the face of Fable. It’s absolutely possible this is PG’s vision, having a character they created and that’s it, with some customization options. If the game has a lot of cutscenes this is gonna make it much easier for them too, instead of having to take into account any of the manually created characters. PG might be like, you wanted to be a dude? Tough shit, you’ll have to do with this. 
You could also choose your gender in the second game.

Right, right, I remember. You start as a kid in that too and it’s in that snowy town, right? Boy or girl, indeed. Yeah, hope they still offer this but right now it’s anyone’s guess.
My guess is we’ll learn more about it a year from here on.
Yup. Do really like what we’ve seen from the current character, so I wouldn’t mind playing as her, but I do tend to prefer to play as a male character.
