If they did that then people would be saying the exact same thing but in reverse, this is one of the biggest things that’s getting on my nerves with the gaming community, 30fps being ok one moment to not being ok in the next, show us X game give us something and when they do it, people ask where is the gameplay, but if they’re quiet they gotta show us the games.
Hot shit rock and roll!
I’m not sure what people are talking about since there is gameplay mixed into the Fable trailer. I have a feeling it will do a lot of those “seamless transitions” between cutscene and gameplay. The Richard Ayoade encounter seems like a boss fight maybe.
“Too good to be true” syndrome.
This will be awesome.
You could choose girl or guy in Fable 3. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game had some basic character creation as in, choose race and gender and pick between a few face variations.
I don’t think we will get these answers for a while. I will say though , choice and their consequences is a fundamental building block of Fable. I would be shocked and disappointed if you couldnt chose your gender or skin color or customise your look.
To be honest the gameplay parts didn’t look anything that crazy, especially since they were super quick cuts. Looks great, but not to the level of disbelief “that must be CGI” IMO.
I bet if it was Naughty Dog they wouldn’t question it. It’s crazy one would think Playground of all studios would get the benefit of the doubt on this kind of thing.
A lot of that. We have seen a ton of “gameplay” before and the final product looks nothing like so people being skeptical makes sense.
That said it’s Playground and graphically they are god damn wizards.
Most studios don’t get the benefit of the doubt. Playground and Naughty Dog are two that I 100% trust visually. Lots of people sleep on Playground cause they just do racers so this is a shock for them.
I don’t think any other studios come to mind where I trust that the game will look like it does other than those 2
Saw a comment on the YT trailer saying something along the lines of their biggest disappointment was the game is set in a medieval fantasy world and the giant was wearing modern glasses, it made me do the biggest eye roll of all time, why are people like that.
What really gets me is reading this wondering when glasses were invented and finding out that they have been a thing since the 13th century. Which really puts into perspective what we don’t know about our world and how it makes us see things so wrong.
Microplastics? Idk, people are dumber than ever.
Best foliage ever in a game.
so far the thing that core community dislike (take r/fable for example) is the literal fairy-tales direction (giant human and beans and all that) rather than the kind of ‘grounded’ way of the original games.
fully expecting a recreating scene of red riding hood and werewolf in the new game.
I got some Rockstar Games vibes from the art style
Peter Molyneux has been totally erased from collective memory, it seems. I keep reading & hearing people say that Fable is all about the humor, the quirky British stuff etc.
How about no? Fable at its core was about interactivity with a living, breathing world. A world where NPC’s had actual lives with daytime jobs & a world which the player could influence. Molyneux’s promises were so vast on that front he soon became a meme in & of himself by overpromising. But the intent (& basic accomplishment relating to delivering on at least some of those promises) was there in the first 3 games.
Now maybe the new Fable has some of this interactivity but absolutely nothing shown suggests it’s even high on their agenda. And that’s the sad part, i.e. a Fable developed in the 2020’s with the luxury of making a game for the powerful hardware we have now in this industry should have absolutely prioritized finally delivering the game Molyneux wanted 20 years ago.
Even in terms of marketing. I don’t ask for platforming or giants or references to Jack & the Beanstalk or whatever, I just want Fable. As it was intended by Peter Molyneux.
You can’t tell other people what Fable means to them or what they find most memorable about the games. Ease up.
