This is the first in-gameplay trailer for the new Fable

They need to piss take Game of Thrones IMO. Get Kit Harrington in as Joe Slush and all whenever you offer him a gift he always says “I don’t want it”.

Yep. If they indeed go the Witcher 3 route, as in a character they created and centered around it then i can absolutely see it being 100% SP focused too, like Witcher. But I do keep in mind those rumblings, if we can call them that about it having MMO Lite elements. Someone from a site claimed he heard this right after the very first trailer. Or they do have these elements and co-op and then I’m curious with what actor/model they go for that.

Right now I’m going with one set protagonist and honestly I’ve already grown to the idea. That way they can really make it their own, their character, their story. But still with things like player choices such as Geralt has too.

Geralt had a load of character building though from the source material & previous games. I think for example some people underestimate how popular The Witcher 2 was (I played it on the 360 version).

Fable though… they could show a trailer with a main protagonist who looks like either Wayne Rooney or 1990’s Cindy Crawford, I still wouldn’t be particularly impressed either way.

And if their character is the star of the game this time, their reveal trailer did a pretty poor job of showing this (with all the narration & talking done by the comedian guy).

Your questions are valid, I have the same, but the answer to them right now is : “we don’t know”.

We should wait and see.

Time will tell. I was really hoping PG would show up at Extended showcase to give a few details but alas. Hopefully next June and hopefully more gameplay too. I’ve seen some people with the argument that maybe this is all PG has so far, but that I doubt. And for now I’m going with 2025 for the release.

That’s very true about Witcher though, it’s an established character. But take Aloy for example from Horizon ZD and FW, that’s a character that dev made. I can see it for this one too. A reboot and this very well could be PG wanting to make a character of their own.

They don’t call her their hero in that tweet for nothing. So just be prepared that it could be the one and only main.

Saw this elsewhere but I don’t think it’s been posted here.

If you look at the official Xbox YouTube channel the description for the video is this:

"What does it mean to be a Hero? Well, in the fairytale land of Albion, that is entirely up to you. With a dark threat looming, and in a world where your reputation precedes you, your choices will change Albion forever. "

Which would seem to confirm it is still set in Albion, still has a big focus on player actions effecting how the world reacts to you and story outcomes and the ability to play the “hero” as you’d like (good or evil).

Does not confirm or deny if “the whole game is about beanstalks” though

I predict that Fable will be just one big battle tower where you have to beat each level on the beanstalk to advance.

I mean half the trailer contains stuff that heroes aren’t expected to do, stealing that dude’s beer, kicking chickens and someone calls her a wanker

It’s like people have no faith in PG to retain the major elements of Fable, which were pretty much the british humor/tone and being a good/bad person, it’s silly to me

Even more frustrating when the trailer showed all the elements that made Fable unique… are we going to have to deal with Gamers™️ lamenting about the “good-old days of Fable when Lionhead actually made them” in the same vein I’ve had to listen to Halo “fans” condemn everything 343 has done?

PG is a proven talent, time and time again, and by all measure, this Fable looks every-bit in line with what we’d expect from a game titled: Fable.

Yes, there are plenty of questions, but why are those questions often levied by individuals that want to paint everything as if the sky’s falling….?

I feel like I already lived through those days once, back when Fable III came out. A lot of people were disappointed, but I felt like, it was very similar to 2 and I had a ton of fun with it. I never did quite figure out what people were on about.

Fable III had some good quests and ideas. But it also is really depressing, had technical issues on 360 and came out undercooked.

i have no idea why Dave and even the NPCs in the trailer have their faces ‘clean’ while the MC in every shoots looks like she had some ashes on her face or something.

You mean her frekles?

Dave seems like a really fastidious dude.

Got into a conversation on YouTube with someone. Long story short this person believes made up nonsense about the non binary person being used for the character.

So I gave all the stuff I posted yesterday…and the reply

Brrrrrrrruh.

I know, I know, I shouldn’t waste my time on this. This world, man.

David Springate who actually works at playground and on Fable says something - LIES

Random anonymous person posts something on the internet - HAS TO BE TRUE

sarcasm aside people really need to stop taking every random thing that gets posted online and run with it

There’s more, and I’ll leave it at that.

Another comment is how the dev merged his face with Lily’s, put it through a photorealism oriented graphics process.

I really can’t with these people, and I won’t. :joy::rofl::joy:

Sounds like this person is trying way too hard to push a narrative that ultimately doesn’t matter. It’s a character in a video game and is most likely just a stand in for our custom characters when the game actually launches.

Also for what its worth, I compared the picture of Lily you posted earlier with the fable character; it looks like they have the same face to me only thing different is hairstyle and color.
