Yeah I know, I know all too well, having loved the first one. When it released I was hooked on One Piece, didn’t play any games in general at that time and from there I kept pushing P2 aside, lol. I’m a strange one.

By the way, buddy told me RPG is back in TGA? I’d say Xbox has that one covered for the years to come.

Last year they had strategy and sim in one-joint category. Lol

Just curious- If Metroid Dread had been on PS or xbox would it have been nominated? I don’t know the answer, as I haven’t played the game.

I am guessing sparsity and brand association also seem to play some part in the nomination.

Ori 2 was a better game than it in every way and it didn’t. So yeah it’s absolutely safe to assume the name and nostalgia played a good role.

It just gets the most views because of the show, but it stings a little to see games that deserved the spot being shunned. While others that accomplished nothing beyond good graphics are there.

I mean if we are ignoring the bugs, the game is gorgeous. Both gameplay and story. Night city is what I expected a next-gen big town in Starfield.

I think we are all complicit in the humour that games should not be made for awards.

I don’t think this is the reality. You have to absolutely aim for awards to increase the prestige value of your banner.

Yeah, and awards are a good recognition of the quality of effort too. But in the grand scheme of things that seems secondary, strangely.

I just keep watching due to the announcements, but they truly don’t deserve their audience if we consider the nominations. Starting by the fact that the year finishes in november.

I cant believe Im almost like done with the game. Feel like the game peaked in the first segment in the castle and the doll house and thats it.

I think using an existing IP in interesting ways deserves credit. Halo seems to be doing that too.

Cyberpunk may be better now but the way it launched, getting yeeted off PSN, CDPR studio culture and the transphobia stuff shouldn’t be rewarded if we want things to get better.

Same with Warzone because of the Activision mess
