Totally keep forgetting the pistols they showed off in the trailer.
So to add to the build diversity: spell gun, gunner, dual gunner.
Makes me wonder if they will also have crossbows?
Looks like combat will be very diverse indeed. Crossbows would be neat, slow but great “initiate combat” weapon.

I’m hoping the extended showcase shows Avowed off in a better light in terms of visuals. Sometimes a change in location or time of day (lighting) can make the game look a lot better. The various stills shared on Twitter look a lot better than this trailer, so I’m hopeful that I will warm up to this art style.

Maybe the stills look how they are aiming for it to work and still have a bunch of look to do on the lighting.

Yeah I’m also thinking it is the lighting that is making the difference here. I’m optimistic that the game will end up looking like the stills.

I’m the trailer it’s mentioned that were their to investigate a disease, something about how it infects the soul, that could be what it is.
Edit: I think I remember seeing as skeleton with the same diseases as well.
Edit 2: corrupts the soul.
And we can see this zombie looking guy is covered in them.
For me personally what went against Avowed was that initial announce trailer that hinted at a much more darker look and art style. I know we had the Jez leaks that hinted at something more colourful but when the trailer first started I must admit my first reaction was “Huh…i wasn’t expecting it to look like that”. That said I don’t mind the art style, just more surprised than anything. The screenshots seem to look a bit better than the footage we got in the trailer.
Although more eyes are on the main showcase, I hope the extended one allows Obsidian to give us a small look at what the game is about as some RPG’s can be hard to convey in a 2 minute trailer. While not a full on deep dive, we’ve seen with Starfield how being able to sit and show what your game is about can just sway opinion. Given their track record and this is them making a game without as big a budget concerns, i’m confident Obsidian will come up with something good.
My first reaction when they showed the wooden deck was…this just looks very dated. The rest looked better, except for the part with a spider creature in a cave. It’s a lighting thing for me. It’s probably too early to tell, but I did expect a hugely better looking game than ToW, not sure this was that.
I’ll judge in a years time. I’m sure this ain’t realising till the 2nd half of 2024. It’s got enough time to polish stuff up.

Looks very similar to Avowed don’t you think ? PoE had a realistic look, but it was colorful. So it makes sense that Avowed is colorful as well.

Is gameplay for the extended showcase confirmed?
Yeah, a deeper dive is not necessarily additional new gameplay. Some here seem to think we get more new Hellblade 2 gameplay, but I am doubting it. Actual gameplay could have been there yesterday and it wasn’t.
The game seems to have had a change in art style from the original CG trailer, but I personally don’t care much… I mean, what I saw here to me looks really damn good, and it’s Obsidian, I can’t wait to play a first person fantasy word made by Obsidian, I really think that it was disrespectful to say it looks like Sea of thieves like Destin said, it freaking doesn’t, some of the parts they showed look rough but… so what? Game is still a year away and is likely to have some changes, look at how they improved Starfield from last year, this was lowkey my second favorite game of the show, probably would’ve been Fable if we had seen more though but so far to me it goes Starfield>>Avowed>Fable.

It looks pretty rad to me. The art-style gives me new age Arena/Daggerfall vibes.
The art style changed and it still looked fine to me. I hope this game and fable can get a deep dive similar to starfield because as a gamer it was refreshing to see that
