Batman used Xbox to steal Spider-Man’s girlfriend. Spider-Man was too busy getting high and playing PS5 to notice …
Agree with this. He’s a good poster and I was having a good faith discussion with him. We might have disagreed but it was honest disagreement.
You’ve hit the nail on the head for my money. I’ve become disappointed but now sadly used to Digital Foundry playing the double standards game for XBox and PS5.
I would give them the benefit of the doubt if not for the context of the discussion. “You guys are paranoid” immediately followed by an easily verifiable falsehood to support their statement is what gaslighters typically do.
Its amusing to see the different reviewing games have had lately. Nitpicking everything on Starfield and FM, completely ignoring all the bugs, etc on Spiderman. The majority of 9s and 10s given to Starfield whitewashed out to push the 7s given by a few “big” reviewers. Its a farce.
Starfield is getting bad scores because it is exclusive, whereas Spiderman got good scores because it is exclusive …
As a PC gamer, I wished everybody could enjoy all games and people grow up.
Pretended to use Xbox, you mean. Dude can’t hold a controller to save his life, unlike Spider-man. Also, that ain’t Cocoa Puffs in the third picture…
Batman is a bit of a light weight and Everytime him and Mary Jane “hangout” he keeps getting to buzzed to hold his controller right. Meanwhile spiderman is starting to suspect something is up. Why is Mary Jane hanging up Xbox posters in her room now ?
The funniest thing I am noticing is places like r/xboxseriesx actually downvotes people they say they enjoyed starfield . Like I swear even the Xbox community is buying into the discourse . However, for a game that is so awful it’s still in the top 10 most played on Xbox in most regions. I think the issue is people relying too much on steam charts when it doesn’t tell the whole story because people could be on pc gamepass due to it being much cheaper than steam
Starfield is past 10M players and it is only one month out. This game will cruise through the gen and be played by more than any other game before ES6. Even after ES6, considering they are not the same kind (SF vs Fantasy), it might even go further.
I bet in 5 years, when no reddit/fanboys will talk about it anymore (too much busy on downplaying the next MS games) we will hear it pass 50M and not news outlet will make a news about it.
It’s only a month in, so this feeling may change, but right now I seriously don’t know if I’ll stop playing Starfield at all. I mean, eventually, sure, but maybe not until Starfield II comes out.
After the initial gorging on it, I’ve now hit a groove where I’ll pop in for 30-90 minutes, just messing around with stuff.
Some exploration of a new planet, building a ship, base building, doing the odd side-quest, crafting, researching, dogfighting, doing photography, getting sidetracked by random encounter…
It’s simply bonkers how huge and varied this game is.
10M for a new licence, even from Bethesda, is great.
Insomniac is gifted to have the SpiderMan Licence. Without it, they would sell much less, game being great or not (Rift Apart barely broke the million sales).
In fact, I expect Starfield 2 to sell and be played by more people, even more than the first, just because of the “franchise” effect (and the fact that Gamepass should rive even more).
After watching some Spiderman 2 streams, I think there’s a fundamental misunderstanding between what one section of the gaming market wants (Sony buyers, game reviewers & influencers), versus what others want. The former have a real tendency to impose their idea of a “great game” on everyone else.
My point is I don’t like what I’ve seen. At all. It plays like a variation of prior Sony AAA’s: long cutscenes, QTE boss fight with visual spectacle superseding actual player agency (there’s none in those scenes), NPC’s that patronize the player, slow walk + press triangle to clean up Peter’s apartment, a linear bike ride with Harry which masks a cutscene, a braindead stealth section with terrible level design & poor AI. Flying through the city with the wingsuit which requires zero skill. Fight scenes against goons which involve button mashing etc.
I’m sorry for the people who like this stuff but for me this isn’t the definition of a 91/100 Metacritic game. It’s simply an example of what one group of people in the market want. That’s all.
The day MS & Xbox make all their exclusives like that is the day I stop playing them. I don’t care what reviewers say, i.e. in this instance, they’re very wrong.
There is no need to be bad on Insomniac Games. There is a market for those games. There is also a very big market for many other types of games.
ABK do not make AAA SP games and they are worth more than Sony gaming division.
What could be discussed is why the “Sony”-AAA-SP crowd is so engaged on hating any other types of games.
Because they are sad losers. That was actually pretty easy to figure out.
I understand why the gaming journalists like those type of games. They are short, they do not require much skills and you can know from the beginning how long it takes to beat them. These are important factors when you have to deliver Day 1 reviews.
On the contrary, evaluating MP-centric games is hard when you are shit at gaming and you play against dedicated hard-skilled players. Also Gaas games invalidate the pertinence of Day 1 reviews, the same as Gamepass invalidate the need of reviews itselves.
Pretty sure that’s your Sony fanboys “infiltrating” the Xbox Reddit, because apparently they have nothing better to do.
It’s what they do.
I can’t even begin to understand it. Imagining joining some PS community just to trash their games? Why would I do that? It’s so weird.
Try N4G. You can’t say anything positive about Xbox. Take for example FFXIV. One user is excited to play on Xbox, yet he gets downvoted more than upvoted.
I just think this is much worse because it’s supposed to be an xbox subreddit and people are downvoting people saying positive things about starfield, and mass upvotes for trashing the game. I understand if you didn’t enjoy the game, but I don’t think a person should get down voted for enjoying it
