It used to be, it is not anymore. Xbox is far too big for one IP to control its fate in any meaningful way without the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia.
Even if itâs not true as of today, itâs inevitably going to happen because why wouldnât it? As a business they created a project to see if they could make money from porting their games and said project verified that theyâre leaving money on the table by not porting their games. Years from now weâll look back on this time like we do âthey wonât port ALL their games to PCâ banter from last gen.
Yeah, that was a good read!
I was hoping for a report on Halo lol
Because Playstation owners arenât buying games?
Itâs hilarious to see things like âIf they release Starfield on PS5, it will sell gangbustersâ
It wouldnât, it might have done if it werenât an Xbox game, it wouldnât have done if it were simu-launched last year because game pass and it definitely wonât a year or more after. As we well know, PS5 owners had 2 large RPGs release exclusively on PS5 and Square now has two failures.
As sony reports, $70 price tags have only reduced new purchases which are now primarily reserved for day 1 titles. Day 1 meaning day 1. As noted, Sea of Thieves, a massive game on Xbox and PC, got outsold by PS5 only title Stellar Blade - itself, nothing special -, despite the game coming to PS4.
Sea of Thieves was out for 1 day in full and 3 days in early access for the month of April. Those lists are also $ based and not unit sales. Stellar Blade is $70 while SoTâs is $40
Nate says their multiplatform approach continues to evolve, says they have âmany moreâ games intended to go mp. He says he personally knows of six games that will be going mp. The uncertainty is venue and timing in which they will be announced.
9:15 mark
More vague shit that canât be âwrongâ because it wasnât flatly stated. Iâm so over it.
6 is the same number Tom revealed. Probably leaked from same person. It all gets passed around, and then everyone wants their cut of engagement.
Agreed.
It really isnât.

Vague but you can put two and two together.
You completely ignored the first part, that for the entire month of April that Sea of Thieves was only on sale in general for 1 day and as a more expensive version for 3 days. Do not keep doing this facetious bs.
She doesnât seem happy with Tom.
Nasty work on the initial insinuation that what Tom was saying wasnât true. In reality the issue is that the truth got out too early.
Not gonna believe these speculations any more. meh. If confirmed by Xbox then great otherwise no sweat off my back
nice assumption?
This is exactly where I am at right now, at this point I am really tired of the crap surrounding gaming - the plans of the corporations, people bitching about graphics/frame-rates, rumors or any drama are so pointless IMO. This may sound cynical but I donât think I can change the industry in any way, I tried all those years by supporting games/studios (that I thought were great and deserved it) with my money and guess whatâŚnothing changed. Arcade racers are dead, character action games are dead, immersive sims are dead, horror games right now look to be approaching death (well besides Resident Evil) so what is even the point?
As you say if we come to a point where I am not satisfied with the platform Iâll act accordingly, until then I donât give a fuck about all this crap. I just want to play good games and have fun.
Tomâs âtruthâ is a speculation otherwise it would have been reported as fact after being corroborated by the likes of Jez, Grubb, or even Schreier.
Itâs all assumption. He just leaked a project thatâs probably in its infancy and threw the Halo on Playstation grenade in their lap on a random Thursday. Even if the project exists and the considerations of putting it on Playstation are true, it would still feel like Tom was irresponsible for leaking that infoso early if I was working for Xbox.
