The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

I hope all of you have been directing your thoughts and complaints to everyone at Xbox and not just posting about it here. They do listen to feedback, so who knows, you guys might be able to change their minds.

This feels like winning the lottery and then donating all your money to people richer than you

I will never understand this. They’re literally making the most money the division has ever done. If they’re not doing it in a way you agree with or are afraid for their console’s future I get it. They’re not handing anything away, they’re thinking they’ll make MORE money. Do they? no clue, but I don’t have the info they do.

Nah we big time baby!!!

On the bright side, at least the GP deals should be cheaper when people start migrating to PS or Switch

It would be very funny if Hifi Rush is on Switch, but not on Xbox One. :skull:

The only beneficial thing for us with going multiplat is having a bigger pool of players for online MP games in regions where Xbox’s user base is smaller like Europe for example, I can’t think of anything else honestly.

It will be even funnier if the Switch and PS get a physical release and Xbox doesn’t.

That’s your guess, as an outsider lacking all vital information. Same as anyone that says “yes” and isn’t a high level exec at Xbox would be making.

Also, more money for the division to make more games which all go into Game Pass

I don’t think Microsoft is really into physical releases anymore. Should be a case for Limited Run Games.

No matter how good it is, Hi-Fi Rush is not a platform needle mover. It is about as niche as it gets. Its a figgin highly stylized, rythm-action game.

No one entrenched is Switch or PlayStation ownership is running out to buy an Xbox for it. Did millions of people run out and buy a PS4 for Gravity Rush 2 (the answer is no)? These games are just about on equal footing prestige wise.

You can have 70% of a non-zero number, or you can have 100% of nothing. In this case they are going to ride with the 70%

Then why would Microsoft expect them to do so with HFR?

They don’t, which is why it goes to the left in their “case by case” basis on exclusive vs. non-exclusive

To be fair, people are right to be concerned about the direction MS is taking with their ecosystem. They have a track record of messing up in regards to their consumer products.
