That future is mostly the EU Commission and other governmental bodies knocking downed single store ecosystems with regulations.

He remind me of a character that literally goes “Yeah!” from any side of the argument. Basically, those bandwagons are wore off before the day ends.
If Xbox only had half it’s studios make exclusive games, It would still have 3x the studios making exclusives compared to last gen.
Also- Why didn’t you guys burn the world down when the minecraft spinoffs were multiplat?
That’s assuming they tackle console ecosystems though. Maybe they will, but maybe they won’t. Look how long Epic fought, lost, and kept fighting before getting a win against Android. Regulators have expressed concern about the App Store and Google Play Store for years and still haven’t opened those up. Any hypotheticals would likely be way down the line
Also, it’s clear that’s what he meant because mathematically, this whole concept of Xbox content being 1:1 on PlayStation is beyond laughably not stacked in the doomposters’ favor. But I know… math is hard.
For better or worse, he’s a shit-stirrer, and it’s one of the many reasons I wish people would stop treating individuals in this space as representative of anything other than their own thinking. The massive pushback we’ve seen from the majority of the community indicates that we aren’t in agreement with everything he or Klo says… fandoms aren’t monoliths and it would be better for everyone’s mental well-being, and nurturing of one’s own understanding, if some would realize that.
Wait are you telling me…that I shouldn’t take everything someone (Klo) who has so entangled his identity with a corporate brand that he sits around creating free marketing materials for them as the gospel?!
I think it was Jesse that pointed out that he has gotten himself so deep in it that he actually believes Xbox should do everything he thinks.
Jez just yo-yo emotions. I know a lot of people like that. Pessimisstic one day, talks themselves out of it with positivity the next. Hell, I do the same thing at times.
I’ve seen posts in Jez threads on Twitter saying that people need to read and that context matters. As in that the Sea of Thieves stuff apparently is in past tense? That MS has explored this idea, and not exploring anymore? I didn’t watch Grubb the other day, I just saw the tweets. But Grubb often says “I think” and certain accounts on Twitter make that into as it it’s a fact.
Or are multiple sources corroborating it?
This is pretty true. Grubb was always pretty consistent in telling people there is a difference between him saying “I have heard these things” and things he is actually reporting on. He would regularly say “if I am reporting it, I will write an article about it”.
Oh we are definitely back on the doom train if Microsoft shows not enough Xbox logos in the DD. The same happened with Blade at the Game Awards.
Grubb has said he’s heard Sea of Thieves could come to Switch and Playstation. Stephen Totilo had reported he heard the same. Everything is all rumors, but it seems likely that Xbox has at least looked into it
If the rumor turns out to be a load of junk, a triage needs to be made between genuine insiders with real info versus the rest.
It’s quite a pernicious rumor as well because it cast a wide net over possible multiplatform releases, i.e. what started as Hi-Fi Rush on Switch (still unverified as I type) turned into PS5 getting at least two games (including Sea of Thieves).
I mean I did say right way back in the beginning of this discussion we had something similar in November, aka the weekly reward app getting jettisoned according to some foreign screen grab (in Portugal or somewhere like that). It still hasn’t happened.
I just find it odd what that latest insider is saying, HFR canned for Switch, but coming for PS5, like why? It would be great for Switch too, I mean it they’re doing it, then bring it to Nintendo as well. I guess the Switch successor could be.
It would definitely be dumb to release it on Playstation only and not Nintendo, especially since it seems like a game that would do pretty well on Nintendo. The only thing I could think of is they wouldn’t be able to get it to a smooth 60 fps on the Switch without sacrificing too much and it’s a game that relies on smooth gameplay and timing. Maybe it’d release on the Switch successor?
We’ll have to see what happens, but I’m still of the opinion if it gets ported at all, it’s a mistake since it’s Xbox’s best received new IP in probably 5+ years.
Maybe it ran like garbage on it, a Switch 2 seems more logical
Game isn’t even on XB1 nevermind OG switch
Sometimes despite leaks you still don’t know what these companies do. I was not expecting machine games
That’s why I hate insiders because they never say what they actually meant with their chest. If this turns out false then Nate and the others collaborating with this just caused a bunch of chaos. Something as big as what they’re saying is something that is massive because it ruins consumer confidence and could influence people in their next purchases. I feel that’s the issue with rumors like this because there is no accountability if it’s false.
But he got what he wanted out of it. Attention.
I mean everybody should take everything said by an “insider” as a rumor and nothing else. I was under the pretense that everything raised here was pretty much under the assumption the rumor was true. There shouldn’t have been a huge uproar with vitriol against Xbox and their management, but it’s fair for there to be conversation questioning things if the rumors come to fruition.
Nah. Avowed, Hellblade 2 and Indy will absolutely have the Xbox and Game Pass logos. They were announced as such and we learned last year Indy is exclusive. Isn’t Blade so far the only game lacking any logos?
