The original post was about some guy who said about HB2 and Jez went in and said not true.
It would be slightly hilarious to see Forza Horizon go to PlayStation and instantly kill one of PlayStation’s most storied franchises Gran Turismo. Now I just want to see it happen to watch the world burn. Forza Horizon would embarrass Gran Turismo so bad, I’m sure the media wouldn’t know how to cover a Xbox racing game selling 10 times as many copies as PlayStation racing game
Maybe they should release FH5 on PS5… the same day they release FH6 on Xbox and PC!
What’s embarrassing is trying to put Forza Horizon and GT in direct competition, when these games have nothing to do with each other.
Between Motorsport and GT, on the other hand, it’s not certain that the XGS game would win out…
You’re not missing anything!
I blocked Riskit a while back (he did briefly appear in the chat during the podcast last night).
He mostly talks BS but lately can be found recording videos of himself crying in his car and posting it to Twitter.
PS: I absolutely detest people who care more about recording videos of themselves for social media (while driving!!!) rather than paying attention to the road… absolute idiots!
Sure, Jan.
They don’t, they certainly won’t care about fans reactions to putting it on PS5 either. As far as they see it, the only people bothered are some xbox fans, the smallest fan group in the industry.
Two vastly different games and much different audiences. The only competition for FH is The Crew Motorfest. The competition for GT would be Forza Motorsport, and I don’t think Forza Motorsport is anywhere to close to GT this time around, so they most likely won’t port GT to Playstation, I think it would be dumb to port Forza Motorsport with GT because that franchise won’t take from GT imo, but Horizon would do very well on Playstation
I don’t think they would hop on a podcast just to placate some Xbox fans and if they didn’t care about their reactions. I do think they want to be careful as this is uncharted territory, and they fear something like a repeat of 2013. Besides this I think it could contradict their business if they focus too much on sales and multiplatform this could affect their Game Pass subs which is probably like 80% to 90% console based. They will still have an in person show in june where a lot of the usual fan faces will be missing and those there will probably be bugging them about this topic. In my opinion I would say if they could come up with a solution of having all their games past and present Play Anywhere enabled or have an Xbox OS available for PC and other capable device this will put to rest and mitigate some of the issues of the platform disappearing. I don’t know how they will handle this split community that seems to be growing daily. Branding is also or can be used as a business incentive just like how Apple and many Designers have done. I’m sure all this is still under discussion, and they are looking at ways to make money and still look like the good guys. I imagine we will get a better glimpse of where they’re headed this June. I didn’t think this thread would still be going and with a timer. best to close it and start another one has the topic no longer applies.

Guess he went to double check but now with upmost certainty, it’s not true.
This game was all Tim Stuart needed to prove his point https://twitter.com/WinC_Gaming/status/1766749984823615710
Horizon would do gangbuster on other consoles. It’s pretty much the only one of its genre (ubisoft tried and failed) and it also a really fantastic racing game.
Pre-orders don’t necessary translate to huge sales. Wasn’t Hi-Fi Rush on top before as well. All this just seem like more viral kind of marketing. Let’s see if Sony will promote it. I do think though that Microsoft wants this title to be one of those that gets bigger than any platform, so I imagine there is Sea of thieves for mobile in the works.
I actually do not understand why SoT isn’t on mobile yet to be honest. Especially with the recent changes to jump into the game more quickly, it only makes sense. We got in and did a fort not too long ago and we were done in like 25 minutes. You can literally ask for a quest that only gives you 1 chest if you want and you fast travel straight to the island, it’s insanely quick!
People still believe this guy ? After the saga of “feeling jez” and all the drama he made on Twitter when all this stuff dropped initially and then he had to “take a break”?
I used to watch Xbox two weekly, now I can’t stand Jez.
I would take anything he says with an atom sized grain of salt.
Oh I have no doubts they were extremely helpful, lol.
He’s given us good info in the past too and I still put much stock into what he says than this RiskitBiskit person who I’ve no idea that even is.
And he also isn’t really saying much, thus rumor went around in the weeks before Xbox had the podcast, about Hellblade 2. Something with they had it running on PS5. And I’m sure the Starfield PS5 build still exists too, after all work had been done on that for years until they stopped.
So I see it as, they still are around but it’s not being worked on by anyone. Anything can happen in the future.
Hmm…
Would I trust the guy with legitimate sources in the gaming industry after working in gaming media for 9 years or… a random Australian which has decided to console war on social media for 4 years and has never correctly guessed anything (unlike Jez)?
That’s a real tough one.
I wouldn’t trust any of them to be honest. Jez has often been wrong as well.
If you read the Guardian article about Rare bringing SoT to PS5 they talk about how secret they had to be about it, even covering windows in the office to hide PS5 dev kits. I suspect whatever is going on right now with any other games is being kept to a small number of people where it would be easy to identify who could leak such information.
Well no, they should all be treated as rumours (which they are) until officially confirmed. I just think between the two I would put more faith in a gaming journalist than a random guy who records nonsense for his social media while driving.
I’ve said this before but anyone who values their social media over other road users is not worthy of following or listening to.
