Or they’re adding Diablo IV into the select games Game Pass Core users can play. It may be true the 34 million number doesn’t count Core users, but I think you might be reading into it too much there.

Not even a secret it was over 30m before Redfall came out…and in 2022 leaked documents showed Xbox Live Gold was at 11.9 million. My Guess, its combined 44 million and has overtaken PSN+. I expect over 50m after CoD.

I wonder what the reason is though that they start with Diablo 4 as GP drops, it’s the complete opposite of how they did Zenimax.
I mean it’s a concern if you want to play those games on Gamepass as an Xbox gamer and Gamepass subscriber.
I also don’t think it’s particularly a good look from their end to not have more clarity on this. I don’t see how not being clear on this helps their business strategy.
Will probably have to link battle.net account with game pass. Similar to how it’s done with EA and Ubisoft titles.

It’s a very popular game that’s still hovering in top 50 most played. I too would do that. Plus it is their marketing game.

As most of ABK games are GaaS, it wouldn’t make sense to add them all at the same time on GP. every game would canibalize each other.

I’m sure we’ll get clarity later on but yeah, it would of been nice for them to address it.
Why not? It’s a service game and if there’s ~5 million Core users, that’s 5 million more people they could potentially sell battle passes or cosmetics to. Maybe they won’t, but there’s no clear indication of that.
He’s always struck me as an incredibly sincere and emotional person, and I could possibly see him being a bit hurt that the community trust level required them to respond in the manner they did.

It’s not even one year old and a lot of people will return when the new season starts. Still a GaaS that it’s growing.

I recall MS saying that Game Pass Core will only add games 2-3 times per year, and the games added will be old gp games, not new

But there’s also all the Crash Bandicoot games, THPS and a few other SP games like Prototype and so on.
Put them in when there is a drought of good games.
