I find this unsettling

Of course they will talk about the multiplat stuff and everyone should assume more are coming, but I think cloud and mobile will play a far more important role in their future than the consoles.

I just hope the next Xbox has a disc drive, I like physically owning my games and it is great for preservation too.

I can’t live in a world, where I have to spend 70 for a game, no deals and you can’t sell a game after you’re done with it.

I understand I’m part of the problem, yet I still buy Blu-ray discs over the file. Yes, just a file is more convenient, but I want to be able to touch what I own and be able to do as I wish with it.

I still share movies with family or friends and sometimes video games with friends too. Doing just that lead to a friend picking up Starfield after spending hours playing the game.

So for me owning the game is a very important feature and I do understand I’m a shrinking minority, but one that still invests thousands of dollars. So I hope that doesn’t go away.

Its not so bad. I used to collect games too, had hundreds. Now the thought of hundreds of cases filling up bookshelves makes me feel sick.

Now I just do game pass and wishlist titles until they go on sale.

I think someone said it well. Sony came out early with their dirty laundry ahead of Xbox leaving Xbox with the brunt of the situation. The media is going to pile on Xbox tomorrow.

That is why I say I’m a minority. I know the market isn’t big for me, but I still am a consumer that wants to own my media. Even if the disc drive is sold separately for the next Xbox, I hope I can have that option.

I’m hoping the next Xbox console can play discs as well but if it does, im expecting it to be similar to the current PlayStation 5 model. Digital only console and if you want the disc drive, it’s an additional optional purchase.

That is all I ask, just give me the option for an optional disc drive, so I can buy and play games that way.

Xbox on every screen I hope it’s like the OS idea and not Gamepass on every screen as that is already been done. A full Xbox experience plus store on every device is fine. This way. Unfortunately, I don’t see or know how they can achieve this on PlayStation unless through streaming or allowing their store. They can’t port every game that will take time and money. They’d probably want a one solution fits all. I’m thinking some games get ported. This also mean the next Xbox hardware will have to be something more if people can get their Xbox experience everywhere.

It’d be sick if they’re hiding a guest appearance from Nintendo or Sony directly at this thing.

I’ll be honest I’m scared about Xbox not caring about power as well.

If the next console is going to be a console/handheld tandem, it’s not going to be pushing power.

Doing it like the S & X, would make more sense and make me less worried.

In so many respects you are right. Look at all the competitive gamers playing at 300 FPS with all of the details and shadows turned off. Look at Roblox which is now a 20 plus billion dollar company.

But I am one of those graphics aficionados. And it’s weird I’m not willing to move to PC.

Maybe their Firestick USB streaming device is ready to go. :eyes:

Realistically for tomorrow I doubt they confirm every Xbox game will end up on PlayStation even if that’s the intention for upcoming games, I think they probably confirm a few small games like Hi fi rush, Grounded and Pentiment alongside an older games like Sea of thieves but will refuse to confirm whether Indiana Jones or Starfield will be releasing on PS5 even if it’s likely happen, they’re probably not ready for that backlash just yet.

I doubt they will do that. The very idea of having the handheld dockable suggests it would be powerful. The series S this gen in some ways have burned them. My thinking is they will do something similar to some Xbox OS at least that is what makes sense for having it on all devices or maybe just make it digital like steam.

Makes sense what I’m curious on is Xbox on every screen. It sounds great but how are they going to achieve that. That is what I’d love to hear more of, and it had better not be these same streaming or Game Pass on all devices as that is not Xbox or at least not the full package.

My theory is they will announce new hardware tomorrow.

what kind? the adorably all digital series x? Handheld announcment?
