I think it is more about who is leading the vision. Surface may have been support while Ronald had the vision. It will be different anyway, but we know another beast console is coming on Xbox. If the surface team is prioritising streaming i might be worried.
In my opinion, the style and timing of the business event will give a lot of insight into how good or bad the news is for Xbox fans:
Tuesday/Wednesday video stream: not-so-bad news with some upsides
Friday blog post: pretty… pretty… pretty bad - Bizaroo Larry David
Alternatively, the event could just be useless PR blather.

Because people live to be outraged nowadays, it genuinely feels like people have turned into complete miserable c*nts the last decade or so, I’m guessing in large part thanks to social media, being positive doesn’t get clicks or attention

if nothing comes no later than 2pm pacific at the latest, I will assume tomorrow is the next big shot. I saw some people online discussing it couldn’t happen on Valentine’s Day, but nothing has ever prevented news and updates from being delivered on this holiday. Would be ironic if it happened on Valentine’s Day considering the potential news and how some will take it. Already seen some breakups from extreme fans like KidSmoove and TimDog online.
Good about the Xbox hardware, but Hololens never released as a consumer product.

I am trying to do the maths on this hypothetical scenario: would it be worth it to buy a Xbox console to play Xbox + BGS + ABK games via Game Pass or would it be cheaper to play them on PS (full price)? This assuming all Xbox games would release on PS and you were getting a PS regardless.
Would you spend more than 500-600 €/dollars (Xbox console) (+ whatever Game Pass cost) on Xbox games a gen? Big doubt.
There wouldn’t be any reason to buy them at full price imo, as people on PS would be able to wait for the games with all dlc and buy them when on sale.

Talking from someone who has both…i would have spent more money owning just a ps than ps and xbox combined
Xbox is always cheaper. Gamepass alone allows me to save money to spend on other consoles and games.
Not in any universe would i only own a ps. Id end up spending thousands more per generation.

Yeah, it also depends on each individual. If you play many many games Xbox may still be worth it.
Xbox at launch day prices, not to mention you will get dozens of day 1 3rd party titles as well.

Long wait, but glad we know when it is now - the team involved does suggest it’ll be wide ranging, and hopefully the podcast interviewers will ask the right questions, they’ve generally been pretty good at doing so in the past
