Because this is the Complain about Xbox OT

It takes years for it to show its impact. It’s almost never overnight.

X1 sold through all of its stock in the first 2 years despite that horrendous showcase. The effects of it usually hit mid way into the life cycle.

XS is still suffering for the mistakes that X1 did. While this is pretty big news, nothing has been confirmed or unconfirmed. This week won’t have lasting damage on its own.

The vast majority of video gamers dont give a shit about any of this, and a vast majority wont even know anything about this “drama”, the tiny amount perpetuating this nonsense are, as ever, the loudest unfortunately. Anecdotally my daughter and her friends are gamers and she and they have absolutely no interest in it at all, it simply will not effect that vast majority in any way.

It is lol. Get off twitter and no one knows about that stuff. Also, a single video with a bunch of views isn’t a lot.

Sometimes the online discourse is a bubble that’s not reflected in the real world, sometimes it isn’t a bubble and is a reflection of or an influence in the real world.

Whatever they announce and do, can’t know its effect untill later after it takes effect, their next quarter earnings at least.

Sorry if already posted, here’s a magazine article about the Sega situation back then:

Post in thread ‘Microsoft will share more details about the “vision for the future of Xbox” next week’

A lot of similarities to the current rumors.

Except for the big ones, Xbox’s division is making insane amounts of money compared to anything SEGA ever did, and they have the backing of a 3 trillion dollar parent company of which they are the 3rd biggest earner.

And also publisher size.

I think they are currently the biggest publisher by number of studios and apart from maybe Ubisoft by headcount too.

Sega technically had a one hit wonder in terms of console, Genesis. After that, they kept fumbling with many ideas. That or bad timing when a new challenger (Sony) arrived. Dreamcast, as good it was, was still struggling on sales and never really gotten the momentum, no matter how good their titles were.

They also in total debt of money due to the Saturn fiasco. With the DC, they were dead before starting.

This new?

No.

They probably wondering where it’s all coming from to be honest. I’m of the feeling that this was overblown to unimaginable proportions and that MS probably had a roadmap show in the work and will simply present what’s coming up as a way of reassuring the fanbase instead of just commenting separately on the rumours so people see they are serious about Xbox and the hardware and that it’s going nowhere.

Hope so, it would be good and a relief if it’s not all that bad after all this shit, lmao. But I’m still expecting there will be some not so fun stuff.

the situations are not comparable at all.

I am hoping the surface team being in charge of all Xbox hardware is one of those things they’re surprised about, because Surface devices are often plague with issues such as throttling, heat issues, poor support, and poor durability.

Imo, the one thing I think the Surface devices have ever done well (until the Surface Phone), was having a sleek design with some unique functionality (Surface Books docking being what I think we’re all thinking their console design would be like).

the hardware is the least of the problems of xbox. In fact its their best asset

Yeah, this shitshow certainly caused some damage to the brand, mainly for the core audience.

Just saw this on the Xbox dashboard. Microsoft already supporting Sony by advertising their shows, next will be supporting them by releasing Xbox games on PS5 :star_struck:

Good guy Microsoft.

/s just in case, but the picture is real, I took it.
