The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

Just read this from someone?

Microsoft has updated their website. It no longer says Xbox Series X | S on their first party games, it now simply says “console”.

They have also removed the Xbox branding from Game Pass and any mention of “coming day 1 to Game Pass” has been removed.

Happened back when they introduced game pass core, to prevent confusion.

If (iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiifff) shit hits the fan with Xbox and the PS5 Pro is a thing, that’ll be the best place to play Xbox games on console so… yeah.

I agree (and posted a similar thought before.) Since console and PC hardware across the board is almost identical these days, it makes no sense to have dedicated “consoles” anymore. It’s expensive for platform owners and users alike (if you want to play on multiple platforms, anyway.)

Sooner or later we’ll just have a generic “PC-box” (or docked handheld) hooked up to the TV. Log in to your Xbox/PS/Steam account and play whatever you want. (Nintendo might continue to do it’s own thing, of course.)

Cloud gaming should grow alongside it as well, but I think it’ll be a few years before the infrastructure is ready for the mainstream.

I never made the link with Core. I dont realise who most of the Sony Twitter Fanboys are so if i see a comment on Twitter ill check the posters history first. I know that annoying dragon and the rest are bots.

I can see his point, but he completely fails to mention the very plausible dangers it could have for Xbox the console, in several ways.

I bet you won’t be able to play all Xbox games on day one of release, but you do you. If you prefer to wait for ports, it’s obviously your choice. PS5 Pro won’t be cheap too.

I think the discourse is getting out of hand and we should wait for the annoucements before making decision. There’s a lot of unknown.

Xbox could release their next-gen a year after Sony’s and just cut the grass underneath them. I want the best too, but going from PS to Xbox every few years just for the specs is not really an option for me.

I hope they say that subtext and “case by case” on the event…

Agreed.

Every one seems to be drumming up how Xbox games going to Playstation is ok. Why is nobody advocating for Playstation games to also come to Xbox? If you want everyone to play all games then why is this conversation so one sided?

Look at what happened with Palworld. Over 7million players on Xbox alone in just 10 days. Probably alot more now. Maybe Sony should think about expanding their horizons too.

the best place will always be on pc. Right now you can build a good pc with a 6700xt which is as close as you can get to a series x with reasonable prices.

  1. We don’t know if Xbox is going multiplatform.
  2. We don’t know if the PS5 Pro rumour is real.
  3. If the rumoured PS5 Pro releases in 2025 it will quickly be outperformed by Xbox’s rumoured next gen console in 2026.

The problem with this is, and where xbox fans are worried, is that this could lead to series consoles selling even less and who knows how third party pubs could react to that and my worry is how that could affect gamepass in the future.

Getting money from other systems is not enough to off-set the decline of your entire console ecosystem because they dont have anything on PC, Clod, and mobile that could replace console in the short term

  1. If the pro exist, we don’t know if it will worth the upgrade compared to the base console. Will you be ok with slight increase in resolution? (for example)

I think it’s especially going to hit Xbox and that their sales are going to collapse with the announcements they’re going to make.

For what it’s worth, the current XS rankings (in the video games category) on Amazon are already abysmal:

US:

  • X: #87
  • S: #31

UK:

  • X: #39
  • S: /

France:

  • X: #117
  • S: #207

Spain:

  • S: #237

Germany:

Italy:

Series S for now in Italy is higher. It’s #131 bundled with Game Pass Ultimate for 3 months. And in any case the USA and UK don’t seem that bad to me, especially Series S is defending itself well for now. As for the rest of Europe, we already know that in those parts Xbox is practically dead.

Imagine falling for this. I mean everyone has with everything this past week. The sad thing is and I apologize that I’m going real here but this whole effect doesn’t surprise me because cancel people without waiting for receipt can cause a riot, it’s no different here.

Series sold like 40-50k in November in EU, showing current stats is pointless, it’s went from dead to deader there

Guys, it’s over! :scream:

The official Xbox Game Pass account posted this Palworld tweet and quickly took it down. The “I’m not your buddy” probably wasn’t taken kindly buy some.

Maybe not the best time to post something like this when people are having meltdowns. I thought it was hilarious though.

Looks legit. I’m an expert at photoshop and would recognize it immediately if it was a fake. Phil Spector is done for!
