I can confirm that some places were calling it Microsoft Game Pass before as I remember it particularly in a local retailer ad. What the hell is it even “officially” these days, Xbox Game Pass or just Game Pass, but then there’s PC Game Pass… this company has some brilliant brand management 
To be honest, Microsoft game pass sounds like a service of game dev kits offered to develpers

The online gaming discourse can be so embarrassing at times when you look at the pathetic emotional outbursts from grown men like Timdog and the freaking out over every little stupid thing. Just use any one of these companies’ products and services if they help you to enjoy gaming, and beyond that people really need to play more games and quit acting like their personal well-being is tied to the corporate success of any one of these companies.

I feel like all these gaming influencers are just farming at this point. Nothing of any substance has come up since Microsoft announced the business update, so they are absolutely milking engagement until it happens.

But as incredible as it may seem, the change to “PC Game Pass” sees the service grow absurdly on the PC. So at that point, it was a great success for them.

I did my MS rewards search on Bing and got hit with a PlayStation ad on the top right side. That was a WTF moment for me. I watched a Champions League match and got hit with tons of PlayStation ads. I watch a random YT video and see PlayStation ads, recommendations. I get recommended a ton of PlayStation content as well. I go on the bus, playstation. In my day to day life I see PlayStation at least once every week. I don’t think I ever remember seeing anything Xbox related. I live in Europe.
No zeitgeist games + no marketing + no localization yet they’re shocked at the lack of growth lol. With this mindset this new strategy will utterly fail too. Fail worse than their current strategy. MS simply doesn’t understand consumers and never will. Which will hurt them because Apple is going head to head with them just off their success in the consumer space. MS is tapping out in the enterprise space. But the consumer space is untapped for them with a lot of possible growth. But alas they always fail with consumer products. They had a winning plan. All they needed to was stick through it because growth was coming. But they folded again and changed strategy on a dime. That never works out. Certainly never in MS case.

It should just be called “GamePass” anyway. I know the differentiator is there because Xbox Gamepass and PC Gamepass are different subs, but for TV’s, phones, etc, it should just be “GamePass”. Some poeple have an allergic reaction to the names Microsoft and Xbox, so just leave them off.

Game Pass is already what most people call it. But what if company has their own Brand Game Pass subscription, unless they trademarked Game Pass already maybe
If it gets any worse it’s an hour long slow mode, I’m sick of it.

As far as I know, no one else is using that brand moniker. I think Xbox GamePass is trademarked, but not sure if basic GamePass is.
