It does sound so… but look where we are, i.e. 98% of the multiplat stuff which has become ‘accepted’ as happening now would have been labelled utter bullsh*t one month ago.
Xbox has done this to themselves by doing a strategic course-correction & not controlling the information (basically sitting on the real news & allowing leakers to put anything out there which might or might not resemble the real plans).

Lost value for the GP and GPU userbase, but gold user have some really cool games to play like ESO and FO76. And let’s keep it real the games were just fodder .

Yep, these are money hungry capitalists that are never satisfied, even if Xbox revenue started going double digits each quarter and started having massive profit margins their thought process would be “not enough! How can we make even more money?”
Xbox One was only 30m sold by 2017 (end of year 4).
Its larger by revenue (25B vs under 10B) and profit…they own King and Call of Duty. Need I say more?
Given that this issue is about games going multiplatform and we have a legion of fanboys declaring Halo coming to PS5 and Game Pass is doing away with day 1 games, i conclude what we have is a certain userbase frothing at the mouth to will things into existence

There are a lot of things I like about more games getting played by more people, regardless of the device they’re playing on.
Getting rid of Day One Xbox 1P on Game Pass does not sit well with me. I could understand Ultimate getting all day one releases, with the other tiers having less on them.
It’s still too far fetched for me to believe that Nadella would entertain just becoming a third party publisher, with no advantage for his own platforms. Like, why even bother sinking $70 billion into all of this?
There’s going to be some comments about how MS & Xbox are better off without those types cheerleading the brand (& an argument can definitely be made in that regard, i.e. considering this TimDog character actually met Phil Spencer, he should act a little more appropriately).
But let’s face it, this is the gaming industry, i.e. there’s crazy fanboys for everything, especially individual games & franchises. MS purchased a whole bunch of colorful ‘gamers’ when they got COD, Diablo & everything else.
And imagine what Sony’s fanboys would be doing if this was Sony going multiplat? WW3 would be real.
Oh I guarantee if this was happening the other companies it would be WW3, Playstation fans sent death threats to the NMS devs because the game got delayed, death threats for a DELAY, they are insane
But my point is more that even though these crazy fanboys will always be around, they shouldn’t be following them on twitter or replying to them, that sort of thing as it just makes them look bad to be associating with them when they act like this
