The Big ol' Xbox 3rd Party Releases Discussion Thread (HiFi, SoT, Pentiment, Grounded) (Part 1)

They really think that they can keep the xbox userbase while releasing games on the PS5 don’t they?

Liking tweets about the “rumor” without the company even addressing it is honestly so fucking tone deaf. The content of the liked tweets makes it even worse. These are just completely unserious people just embarrassing.

And ms are in that market abd make a shit ton of money from 3rd party sales.

Last time i checked…ms sell fuck all in windows store.

When GTA6 comes out…ms from xbox alone are going to make fucking bank.

I was told selling on steam and subs compensated more than enough. It’s the drum of the last 6 years of Xbox, I keep the stance somewhere along the run some genius looking at numbers said a 5% growth was crap, then let’s make some bold move shitting on longtime fans, the one and only lifeline which saved Xbox last gen.

Yeah dude has always acted like your average hardcore xbox fan when something “bad” happens. Really useless opinions.

Depends on what games and how try go about doing it. Bethesda games? Meh.

If they go day and date with a gears…theres a problem. But that will never happen

I was talking about the Cloud. It seems to me that the service is in 4K and of much better quality than Xcloud. Geforce Now is also well ahead of Xcloud.

Not sure it works. We’ll see, but I just want to say that as of today nothing is guaranteed. Xbox has a new strategy…

You can’t say this with any certainty.

The same could be said for Playstation as Last of Us, God of War, Spider-Man etc are on Steam.

However the majority of console players do not also play on PC, therefore they are exclusive as they can’t get them on their console.

The audience for a $499 console with a simplistic UI is very different than a $1500 PC which requires maintenance and upkeep.

For someone wanting a console (not a PC) why would they choose Xbox going forward? They won’t spend $499 just so they can spend a further $17 a month to get access to most (but not all) of the games they can get on Playstation.

As console sales dwindle the divide will get even further. They will start prioritising the games for where the games sell most and therefore will likely run better there too!

It won’t be a select few because the money will be too good.

That third party sales is gonna dwindle when people leave the ecosystem, that is the point people are making here.

Youd think or hope these were some of the people were laid off. Msybe they got rid of the wrong people…

I think that you’re overestimating Gears popularity nowadays. Sea of Thieves is bigger than Gears at the moment and it is going multiplatform.

And Bethesda or not, Starfield is the biggest Xbox exclusive since maybe Halo 3. If it goes multiplatform, everything will. It’s just a matter of time.

They really do! They probably figure most of us are locked into their ecosystem so they can do whatever, what are we going to do? Sell our xbox’s and get rid of all our downloaded software?

Isnt it a really really stupid way of confirm the rumors? Lol

I agree…but right now theres no evidence for that. We still dont know whats going to happen.

For all we know ms could have a plan to make xbox ecosystem even bigger

This mess needs its Adam Orth moment.

I said day and date. SoT is a live service games. Gears isnt.

Also not everything Logistically people need to develop these games and port them

And if this insane backlash is anything to go by…ms aint going to be quick to release ps5 ports

Same reason why sony pc ports are of a slow rate

Given these are the same people who banked on Xcloud (never been improved) instead of manufacturing more consoles.

Yes, yes they do.

But what if Microsoft keeps buying up third-party publishers? Why take the 30% cut on the largest games when you could have the 70% cut?
