There are studios out there perfectly capable of putting out good PS5 ports. Don’t see any reason to do them internally, just like Sony didn’t bother doing their PC ports internally (until they did enough of them that they bought a porting studio)
we’re overdue for official communication. They swiftly denied the visions of mana rumor but they let this one fester
Yeah, but why Jez is tweeting this nonsense ? Is he drunk again ?
Maybe he’s having fun, but it got to me, I admit.
If there was nothing true, everything would have already been denied. These rumors have been circulating for one month now, so there must be some truth to them
I know it’s his Twitter and he can essentially say whatever but i’m sure Jez knows full well what he’s doing with tweets like that and how they’ll whip fanboys into a frenzy. Heck i’m sure not long ago he was saying how it wasn’t happening and then it’s switched to it could be full multiplatform. He sounds quite against it though ironically was it him or some other insider that said Microsoft should make Killer Instinct 2 multiplatform
I’ve kinda grown bored of the subject Mainly because of the non stop vague teases and fake insiders. I kinda wish insiders hadn’t started teasing this and it just got announced “properly” as it would have saves us all weeks and months of the same topic and points of view going around and around in circles almost.
Yeah, but not all games. This doesn’t make any sense. Like zero
Before I go and return when a word from the company themselves comes out, I just want to share my own thoughts on not the strategy itself but the ordeal on insiders handling the report because I truly wonder what’s their hellbent obsession on the topic? For past three years, nothing ever gotten this amount of attention from “insiders” until now. Why can’t we just wait for a confirmation, true or false? What’s the big deal on the matter? By insiders, I mean from all fronts, Xbox focus and non.
If it becomes true, what do you want from us? Super Bowl ticket? Taylor Swift ticket? Why can’t you just let it play out from official instead of keep on bragging to the point it becomes even more bigger like all games instead. If it’s the idea of teaching people to deal with it, that’s not going to work. How would I know? Because I’m fucking seeing with wrestling right now. What do you want, really?
If it happens, okay, I’ll form an opinion, but I won’t pat on your back. If it doesn’t, well good luck. I don’t mind people talking about it as in discussion, but these insiders are too up in their ass about the whole thing. It’s even annoying when things settle down, they come back with it. We get it, let it play out.
There. Just want to vent out because realistically, they’re examples on why Twitter/X are toxic and probably don’t realize it.
I would just make sure that the ports are always up to standard with Xbox as I expect them to be scrutinized to the maximum degree for anything “off” compared to Xbox.
And a side note they will catch bad news if they don’t support PS5 Pro.
Some people on X/Twitter are almost selling their souls for engagement, to get a few bucks from Elon.
What does that have to do with “who knows”. It’s my main point, we’re a month into insider rumors, vague teases and hints driving discourse. A discourse full of people making sweeping declarative statements about things they have no actual access to. No experience in any of these sectors but full confidence that they know and everyone else is obviously a moron.
Nothing has actually happened, yet “Xbox must talk” because someone keeps leaking things. It’s a never-ending descent into more and more toxic discourse, fueled by engagement farmers.
I refuse to believe they haven’t even given their current strategy a chance: first party games every quarter, COD and Diablo on Game Pass (ABK games haven’t even arrived yet), and some studios like Compulsion Games have yet to release their first game as a first party developer… Xbox really needs to clarify as soon as possible. These are just rumors, but they are already doing a lot of damage to the brand by continuing to remain silent.
The way I see it is…
Had he said something very positive, like a brand new game tease or what have you, many of us would have believed it and loved it. But he’s not saying anything too great now, and I’m not gonna just write it off. Until confirmed it’s a rumor, sure, but I definitely believe it’s gonna turn out to be true. Whether that’s “some games” or “all games remains to be seen.”
I wonder how legit his sources on this are, especially the source saying all games. How the fuck did it get here.
I think their current strategy is still the main plan, but they probably extending it by releasing older games on other platforms.
Idk
As someone who doesn’t use Game Pass and buys my games, because I knew games like Starfield were only going to be on Xbox Series X, if it is more than just a few games, this will suck for me.
The reason why I could have just bought a PS5 instead. I don’t own a PS5, because there isn’t enough games I want and so hopefully this ends up just being made up from angry PlayStation gamers to hurt the Xbox brand.
So this was a year ago

Like he says, online games, niche games. HFR sure falls under niche. Sea of Thieves falls under online games. This honestly makes sense. We don’t take Jez other source into account here with “all games” obviously.
We probably shouldn’t have been shocked about HFR rumor when it appeared when you take this into account. Even though HFR is absolutely a brand new IP as well.
In this scenario, you still get all the same games on Xbox. If there are games on PS5 you’d like to have in the future it isn’t the biggest change. It’s a completely different ecosystem with different positives and negativies. It’s not like you jump over and have the same experience. What if ports take a long time? Again it’s all far too early, and there is too little information to actually know what is going on yet.
As this rumour keeps picking up steam it’s given me time to swallow this gigantic pill.
I absolutely despise the idea and at the start of next gen will not be getting a Xbox. As I’ve said before it’ll be PC/Nintendo or if I can afford it PC/PS/Nintendo.
If all Xbox has to offer is lesser exclusives than ever before or everything coming to PS later then I’m out.
While a lot of people think game pass is a win here I think the complete opposite. Game pass has allowed me to play these games without ever owning/paying full price so I have no library. Which makes it super easy to leave.
Lastly, I adore Xbox and have been here since early 360 days but this for me is about principle and looking ahead. There may be a Xbox for the next 10 years but it won’t be worth investing in if all it offers is game pass.
Oh and keep it civil
It would have been a mistake. They can’t let competitors and X rumormongers dictate their communication. They should not answer false claims made by people who are not affiliated to Microsoft. And they won’t; clowns like Jez and Tom Warren will still be tweeting the same garbage 3 months from now.
The problem is it’s not that simple, Forza and Halo have “massive online community”, Hellblade 2 probably have a niche audience.
I don’t think we should consider these old strategies, if these rumours are true than it’s a brand new thing. If they knew Hi-fi Rush and Sea of Thieves were going to be multiplatform they would surely use this in the FTC dispute.
I mean, factually we saw exclusive skins for PlayStation and Nintendo on the latest Hi-Fi Rush update which happened less than a week ago. So we know for sure that, at least at this moment, Microsoft plans on releasing Hi-Fi Rush at other platforms.
