The BC Thread (UPDATE ON FPS BOOST)

And add Dreamcast BC

Fingers crossed they relist it especially with the BC news. But I’m not sure if it will happen. If not I guess I will have to write to Warner and Ed Boon lol

They also tweeted later that this is the case digitally, so whatever region you’re in it’ll download that version.

Can anyone confirm if this is indeed the case? The European version (3.2) of DOA3 has extra moves, more costumes (although you have to unlock) and probably some other stuff. The North American version has that booster disc which automatically unlocks costumes (3.1). I really want 3.2 and not 3.1

What if MS acquires someone? Like say - Capcom. Would they not be able to BC those older titles and improve them since they would now own their license?

I saw these numbers on reddit :

Still long way to reach halfway of OG/360 library.

You bought it for the articles, I heard.

Old numbers, final numbers are 63 for OG and 632 for 360. The overall picture doesn’t change much, but it’s better than nothing, other companies don’t even try and resell old games as new. XD

Could be Nintendo which is forcing you unto a subscription

Also some of their repackaging are ludicrous, asking full price for things Xbox BC does automatically, lol.

Damn, thats way less than I thought there was

But personally, the vast majority of the 360 titles that have been made BC are the big ones, so many of those left are shovelware crap that you wouldn’t play if you were paid to

and the OG xbox, it’s definitely shame that they got such a low amount but so many of those games were also on ps2 and with retroarch ps2 emulation on series consoles now I can just play most of those things there

Not an ideal system but it is what it is, they really did try with this whole scheme and they deserve a lot of credit

FPS Boost still big deal for Backward fans, hope the team continue to update the recent library with 60/120 fps or maybe some day to add achievements for OG games.

What they need is resolution boost for some games. New Vegas is 720p for example.

Could tBeth be making an F-NV remaster? Or they don’t care too much about Obsidian’s work.

Darksiders, Mirrors Edge, Gears 2/3, Fable 3 and Sonic Generations in 4k@60fps are awesome and of a remaster quality you would have to pay for on consoles in other circumstances.

No. Any kind of Fallout work kills off F76 which is on a good trend and makes recurring revenue lol.

Fallout 3 is now 4K resolution AND 60 fps on Series X. That’s as much of a “remaster” as some full price packages, Kingdoms of Amalur for just one example.

Question, with the backwards compatibility team ending does that mean no more games will get fps boost?

No those are separate things

Most of their old games are already 60fps/4k, almost a remaster as is

As for full blown remakes, these games are so huge and unique that remaking them would require so many people and resources that they’d be better off trying to create something new

Like imagine a Morrowind or Oblivion remake that would have to completely build entirely new combat and a.i and thats on top of creating the entire worlds from basically scratch, that’s almost of as much as building an ES6, a 4-5 year effort with a massive team

Personally I think it would kinda devalue the next ES/FO if they did it too, every game in the series feels like a huge event because it is so long from the last game and the tech is such a huge jump up that getting a remake with some of that tech would lower the impact of the next main game in each series
