Yeah looks like they are reducing gap between Ps and PC releases.

Spiderman 2 in Fall 2024 or Early 2025.

WOLVERINE most probably mid 2027 or Fall 2027.

And Spiderman 3 on PC Early 2028. Maybe even Day1.

So basically goodbye to any chance this IP gets any new release or remaster… shame.

This industry is based on leaks. Every day, every week, every year.

I would never discuss any personal information, but details of the agreement between Marvel and Sony are not. We would, they would, discuss all details between Marvel and MS at length and without remorse.

The way a lot of outlets react to this leak is hilarious. Even funnier that some folks here called it lol.

It is probably the year where the work will be done. It would be very credible that the port effort is done as fast as possible before the console team has not moved on another project.

On steam, with steamdb, it is very often to see that the game was ready for release months or years in advance to its actual release (Square I see you).

Also notice that with the actual amount for the PC effort, we can see that any PC port is making money on Day 1.

With First 3 games we can see that they came out according to the Budget projections in this Document.

The double standards in gaming journalism and media are exposed for all to see.

However, I don’t think dragging folks like Tom Warren who predominantly cover Xbox and Microsoft through the mill is helpful. Especially as I think his comments are broadly correct that it is important the media show some ethics and I don’t think it’s his place to start highlighting double standards or whatever. He says later he ‘hopes the reaction isn’t because of Sony favouritism’ but clearly isn’t ruling it out.

There are already ethical standards. There are were. These have existed for a very long time & every journalist will be well aware of what’s legally permitted versus what isn’t. Personal data is usually first on the list. But that’s not what’s happening here.

Every major leak or minor leak in this industry is technically illegal in the sense an NDA has been breeched. If a conversation takes place where the needs of the corporations & their game publishers become the most important thing (aka protecting their marketing), then these sites & so-called journalists pretending to be gaming media… aren’t media at all. They’re pr agents.

So there’s no valid ethical conversation to be had about cracking down on covering leaks, i.e. such an effort would be antiethical itself. News is news. For example if the Republican party suffered a leak & CNN said ‘no way, we’re not covering that!’, there would be serious ramifications.

The term ‘Gaming media’ is an oxymoron. There’s no real media, at least certainly not the majority. These people care more about their relationship with Sony, Disney & Insomniac than they do about consumers.

Yes Tom himself maybe doesn’t have that attitude, but he’s obviously projecting his peers and the bubble. It was still a really stupid tweet, so many different way something could’ve been said.

Finally had some free time and I saw the news about Insomniac. I basically agree with all of you that there is a big double standard in the industry for a long while, and it has to end. Obviously, leaked employees information and consumers information is really bad and should not be talked about, but the rest should in my opinion. The deal between Sony and Marvel, how they see the competition and their strategy moving forward, Insomniac roadmap, all would be talked about if it were Microsoft instead.

Honestly, just seeing Insomniac roadmap makes me a bit depressed, seeing them just being a Marvel game factory for the forseeable future. I’m just thinking how they could have been much more creative under Xbox.

You know, this I can kind of respect. If you’re gonna be a hypocrite, at least realize you’re being a hypocrite and apologise for your past behaviour.

It’s the people like Kinda Funny that I just roll my eyes at. Ditto the apologists for that kind of behaviour, with their various backbending and hair splitting reasonings.

The most disappointing of whom has got to be Tom Warren. He recognizes the hypocrisy. He doesn’t even do much justification for it, aside from saying it’s human nature. But then he fails to hold the hypocrites accountable and just talks about how he hopes the current dialogue has a lasting impact. Show some integrity, man.

Hey @peter42O . How are you feeling about our bet?

I correctly predicted that Playstation wont have an E3 level showcase until its time to reveal the PS6.

I’m feeling pretty good about that prediction after this leak. The PlayStation cuboard is bare… and now a bunch of their “showcase” surprises are gone. Can’t build an entire E3 level showcase now. A bunch of smaller directs is all Sony will be able to muster until they reveal the PS6, just as I predicted.

I think Sony will show everything they have in 2024, the go quiet until PS6. Like their 2017 -2020 thing.

Maybe, but they did also cancel a bunch of projects. So I’m still very skeptical they have the games for something like that. Time will tell :grinning:

I hope these folks know the phrase, “internet never forgets.” They better hope no “juicy” leak ever happens again. Their reputation is on the line after that “We’re sorry” move.

The Internet talk more about Xbox 2013 reveal than Playstation 2006 reveal or the PlayStation 2011 hack.

They also talk more about graphical powers in 2013/14 aka grass gate when their favourite company has the power crown.

Hahaha. I don’t remember that bet!! lol

Just joking. Seriously, you’re not correct yet as PlayStation 6 will be 2028 so I still have 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027. There’s NO WAY in hell Sony doesn’t have at least ONE major E3 level showcase in four years.

Also, as horrible as this leak is for Insomniac and Sony, outside of some Bluepoint game which is a new IP, it doesn’t include Sucker Punch, Barlog’s new game, Bend Studio, Guerrilla’s next game, etc. Also, there could always be some kind of new souls game since they seem to be close with Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo.

With that said, in all honesty, im feeling more or less the same because the stuff that leaked is stuff that was a given (Spider Man 3 or Venom) so nothing lost there and for X-Men (oh hell yeah!!!), I knew that there was another Marvel IP that Sony had but didn’t know what it was so im very pleased.

Also, don’t forget that my expectations are different than others because it’s all based around if the platform is primary or secondary. I can guarantee that my expectations for Microsoft and Xbox Series X are higher than anyone else’s here because it’s my primary gaming console and like all others before it, I expect them to deliver for me personally which thus far, they have despite a dead 2022 for me. With Sony, I guarantee that my expectations are lower than anyone else’s here simply because PlayStation 5 is secondary. They’re secondary for many reasons but whatever I get out of the console/platform this generation is just bonuses for me.

Since im keeping track of a lot of stuff, one of these things is the roadmap for both Microsoft and Sony. This is all about games that are being published by them. I don’t care if the studio is internal or external. If it’s a new game being funded and published by either, it’s on the list.

First party wise, it’s 19-10 in favor of Microsoft but let’s be honest, they have double the studios and triple the teams so it SHOULD be more. The main aspect that evens out what Microsoft has is obviously the third party console exclusives where Microsoft rarely gets them or pays for them. Sony pays for a good amount of them and gets others by default.

Point being that while I personally only have interest in 3 of the 10 games from Sony, there’s also Granblue Fantasy Relink from CyGames which im super hyped for and started me getting into JRPG’s outside of Final Fantasy which I also have with Rebirth. So including third party console exclusives, the gap is closer for me since Microsoft rarely pays for games that they’re not publishing/funding.

So for me personally, im good and in general, 4 years, im 100% certain that Sony will have an E3 level showcase. Of course, at this point, we just have to wait and see as there’s a long ways to go.

Funny how everytime Sony has bad PR they release sales numbers and everyone still fawns over them. Happens nearly every time Sony is in a jam.
