That Insomniac Leaks spoiler filled discussion

It did. But it still moves.

As someone who dealt with the aftermath of that hack… for years (I am verifiably one of those affected by that bullshit), I’m still amazed there haven’t been more gov suits brought against the company then and since.

They seem to work on some Hunters game by the leak. At this stage, we should be lucky and grateful they do not work on some Marvel games either.

If Disney is collecting 35% off the bundles of Spiderman then we can just imagine how much Microsoft is collecting of the bundles of COD

It will be a Gotham Knight clone, I presume.

All the problem is to do such game under a constrained budget. Since the market is not growing, then you should restrict yourself.

Some of the best movies in the world history have been made under budget constrain, in fact art is a result of constrain according some philosophers.

SM2 should have never been made with almost 400M$ budget. You could argue that Halo Infinite budget was also a problem to be fair.

You can also see this in the direct coverage of the ABK deal, and those same journos repeating the same nonsense on their socials; if they actually cared about devs like some of these people pretend to, why were they saying how bad it would be for devs and gamers? The game unions, the largest unions in the States, and plenty of devs went public with their support of the deal and the promise of better than Kotick’s leadership, but those people don’t count apparently. If these people were consistent and not biased (as they clearly are), none of this discussion would even be happening… it’s that simple.

They literally repeated the PS4 playbook and didn’t have any contingencies in place (people forgot how many timed exclusives were locked up by Sony for the first three years of that gen).

Exactly, Jim Ryan has just tried to continue the business a usual. His main problem is that doubling costs in a stagnant market only lead to rising consumer costs or decreasing profits.

It seems that with Jim we got both.

Nobody in the media had a problem with leaks from the Capcom hack (this was also some illegal activity). Now they find their conscience? lol

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, this is going to be so much fun

Sony fanboys have selective reading. They will probably focus on, the two top circles.

I have this strange analogy. I played high school football in the 80’s. We had a good coach (we went to the CIF champship but lost). He was really mean with us. Always screaming if we missed a tackle or lined up in the wrong place. But when another player from another team fell down or missed a tackle by our sidelines, our coach would always pick him up and say “Nice try”. We all though why is he so mean to us but nice to the other team? Somehow I think the media is the same way.

Sony plans to go mobile and PC, they are just not clear about that. All they do is halted by their fear of losing their precious console community. Hence, the delays in porting to PC for example.

They have yet to embrace this multi platform strategy like MS did. they have yet to assume it also.

Well it looks like Playstation is going to become third party before Xbox lol
