Thanks to someone on Reddit I managed to get it working. Turns out it had to do with wireless interference, turn the headset off and the controller works, strange as hell.
That being said, you guys werenāt kidding. What is going on with this game? Itās a demo I know but what the hell. This is not what you expect from this studio. Visuals in performance mode are aliased as hell, even framerate stutters in the later section.
Combat does feel good but man this needs work, A LOT!!!
New demo coming out but not on store yet.

Thereās a 6000 point punchcard in the Rewards app for this game, for any of you suckers [like me] who will buy anything with Final Fantasy in the title. 
Depends on the demo which is out btw. Installing now. Just search stranger as term and it will be there.
If this game is half as good as Nioh then ill buy it.
We were a āmaybeā on the review code list from SE. Not feeling confident yet, sadly we might miss out on all the CHAOS at embargo time.
When is the embargo time? I mean if youre not allowed to say is it at least before the early access date of 15th? I think it has to be
Everything ive seen from this game looks mediocre.
No clue yet, generally only learn embargo timing with the email giving you a code.

Ok So Iāve spent some short time on the Demo.
- Graphics are really bad in Performance mode. I mean borderline 720 looks like. Even for Series X. WTF is this?
- Performance is miles better than the last Demo. Runs solid 60FPS. Which makes a big difference to combat but man that resolution. Iām interested to know what the actual Res is. Because Iāve played a lot of series X games at 1080p even on my 4k and they donāt look this bad.
- Combat while responsive feels and bit basic and flashy. Job system is pretty cool but havenāt opened it up yet. I think its fine so far
- Game has a lot of cutscenes
- Mission structure like Nioh. Almost carbon copy but has central story element to it.
- Characters and animations are straight up from 360/PS3 era. you canāt take them seriously but thereās a weird nostalgic charm to them. Proper Ps2 and early 360 era JRPG feel to the story.
- IF you are a souls and or Nioh fan and want a challengeā¦play it on the hardest settingā¦even then its way easier than any of those games. I started with the hardest setting and it was still very easy.
- They butchered the Chaos Shrine music. Arrrghhh

Anyway Iām still gonna continue on with the demo tomorrow as I have work now but Iāve only spent about 40 mins on it. Will post more impressions tomorrow. Other people should check it out and give some opinions on it.
has it made me want to Pre order the game? I was leaning towards pre ordering anyway but Iāll wait until Iāve beaten the whole demo.

I love this.
So hearing a lot of responses from Resetera on the Demo. Aparantely the Series X demo is locked to 30FPS on resolution mode while PS5 is unlocked. BS if the final game is like this.
The real question is - does SOP get a lower MC/OC score than Babylonās Fall? I donāt believe that it will but reading Shinās impressions based on the demo, im expecting 60ās.
Nah this aināt getting red. I actually think itāll get mid 70s. Itās visuals are ass but it plays well enough and seems to have potential to open up more as you progress the jobs.

Itās not getting 60s on MC/OC, feels like more a 70s game. Cutscenes look nice, gameplay looks 360 era, but the actual feel is strong and flows well. Dialogue isnāt as cringy as I expected and the music is amazing.
Iām firmly in the wait for Game Pass camp, but itās a decent game IMO
How is this studio messing it up this badly with the resolution alone? Their previous games were fine in this aspect. I recall playing Nioh on friendās PS4 and it looked fine. Youād think with it being a FF spin off theyād make even more effort.
Confusing as to why this looks worse than Nioh 2 and has worse performance.
Itās very strange and unfortunate too. Usually their games look fine, I donāt think even the first Nioh or their other games had this low resolution and aliasing.
