I am 34 now, so I have been gaming for a very long time and I have told myself in the past how I don’t get super excited for games now as I once did before, I look forward to them but not anxious to play them.
Starfield has completely brought that feeling back and I am glad it has. I just cannot wait to get immersed in it.
Attacking one of these will be fun, we’d definitely get wrecked.
Wow the hype is real… could Starfield surpass Elden Ring week one numbers on Steam? I remember seeing something like a million players on the steam charts.
Edit: Oh probably not considering it will also he available on Game Pass.
It will be interesting to see how it performs compared to the other big games considering PC Game Pass is right there
Obviously a lot of Steam folk much rather just buy games there than dealing with the Xbox App but I still feel that’s a sizeable chunk of people that will no longer be counted for Steam launch
FO4 did around 500k concurrent but even with that still being a big number and GP being a thing, I think it should beat that pretty comfortably but can it reach the million ranges of Elden Ring and Cyberpunk? That will be the real test
I think it will be huge regardless but if it really does stick the landing and is as good and polished as that direct was, it will be a monster
Perhaps but I would think that reviewers will be getting their review codes by first or second week of August so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no previews.
They’ll have to have previews of some kind surely? Doesn’t every big game nowadays have some sort of preview?
I know it’s less than 3 months till launch but previews play a big part in the marketing/hype cycle so I imagine they have something out there in July to keep the marketing/hype cycle at the maximum and then reviewers getting the game around mid August
Yeah all true but Starfield is such a massive game, having a few hours in a preview isn’t going to accomplish much if anything so better off just giving reviewers about a month to review the game.
You play as much of it as you possibly, safely (…) can. I put 100 hours intwo diablo iv in 10 days. It isn’t enough time to see most of the endgame but it’s enough to give people an honest opinion alongside a lot of objective facts.
Does press get copies before the game is announced Gold? I remember Cyberpunk was announced Gold, but got delayed anyway. I don’t remember when reviews arrived. Maybe no previews this time around and just straight to review copies.
Or not, and press gets invitations to come check the game out or something. Either way, time is flying, it’s in our hands before you know it.
Cyberpunk was a special case. No major game (to my knowledge) has gone gold and then been delayed. I’m pretty sure PC review codes for Cyberpunk came out like a week before launch, and then console codes on day one (if even then lol).
I expect Starfield to go gold in late July or early August, and review codes to go out very soon after. They need to give review codes out at least 2 or 3 weeks ahead of time, ideally so reviews can drop the week early access starts (the Tuesday or so, with early access starting Friday).
