Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

Yeah, that was good. Looking forward to experimenting with the various settings to find something that suits my character and playstyle.

The only thing I know for sure I’m doing is setting Player Combat Damage to extreme. Right now the vast majority of enemies take one or two shots to kill, so bumping that setting up should make it more fun.

I’m curious to see if/how the Legendary drops will be impacted by these setting changes. With the current difficulty slider going from Normal to Very Hard causes a noticeable increase in how often you get Legendary drops, but it’s still semi-rare I find. Hopefully if you turn up combat difficulty a lot the rate will increase accordingly.

Thanks for posting that video. Definitely looking forward to May 15th.

I’ve always thought that food was significantly underpowered as a heal. There was little to no reason to even carry food or food crafting components. Offering this level of granular control is incredible.

It’s a genius way to address any criticism as well. Give players full control to make it how they think it should play.

yeah for sure, If they can add a toggle to show the effect in our hud, will be golden.

I agree completely. But late than never in regards to Bethesda Game Studios adding the customization options for Vendor Credits and more!!

I’ll be playing on hard for player combat damage but ship combat will stay on normal. We’ll know soon enough in regards to the Legendary drops. And you’re welcome. Came across it on YouTube while searching for info on the MASS limit.

One thing I do wonder is if Bethesda Game Studios adds and that’s enemy scaling. Like have enemies 5 levels above/below you, default like it is now or have enemies the same as the player level at all times which is what I would do.

Side note - one option I wish they would implement is turning off the background for subtitles.

Yeah, in the beginning enemies scale pretty well, but I’m level 236 now, and I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a triple digit level enemy. They seem to max out in the high 90s, making me more than twice the level of even the most powerful enemy.

I don’t actually mind that much, it’s kinda fun to be a god, but at the same time I’m looking forward to experimenting with the difficulty settings.

Came across this “cutting room floor” screenshot on No Sodium:

It shows they were at some point considering modifiable robot companions, which could’ve been pretty cool.

According to cut Cora dialogue we know they were at some point going to have three other robots in Constellation, so that tracks with this as well. As does the existence of Styx and Kaiser.

I hope they’ll eventually do something with this. Kaiser was a lot of fun, and I was bummed when it turned out he couldn’t be recruited. Imagine being able to build your own robot the same way we can builds ships. They could have personality modules with different dialogue styles, maybe even have customizable skill trees depending on what equipment you install… Could be lots of fun.

The only enemies I have seen go past 90 are aliens(edit: robots as well), even then 110 was the highest I’ve seen.

Currently, I am at level 89 and with aliens, I have definitely seen a few beyond level 110 during my exploration..

The player levels is infinite right? Like, there’s no cap?

I was going to wait until the buggy gets added to restart the game but instead, since June/July/August has no new game releases for me until Star Wars Outlaws on August 30th, im going to be starting my new playthrough on June 1st after I play through and complete Hellblade 2.

Watching that video I posted and some clips, I want to get back to playing the game. Now, I can loot everything that’s not nailed down and shouldn’t get over encumbered and even if I do, it probably won’t be by much. Hyped!!!

Side note - I have a question since im not 100% certain about this - when you go to a planet, it generates the content and points of interest but for example, when you start the game on the default planet after waking up, creating your character, etc., there’s three points of interest if I remember correctly.

My question is - if I complete these points of interest, do they stay “completed” or do they “reset” if/when I go back to that same planet? Thanks.

As far as I know, yes. There’s enough skillpoints needed to support 300-something levels. 330 I think? Don’t quote me. Not sure what happens once you max that out, but I haven’t heard anywhere that there’s a ceiling.

They’ll show as completed when you view the planet map, but they may get repopulated by NPCs as time goes on.

I’m not sure about the specific POIs you’re referring to, can’t say I’ve specifically re-explored those, but most (all?) POIs do get reset after a while. But as I said, will still show as completed. Specifically, they’ll have a % explored by their name.

So if you ever visit a POI and don’t fully explore it, it may say 75% explored. But if you’ve fully explored it, it’ll say 100% explored. These percentages do not get reset.

Okay, good to know. Thanks. Hyped to jump back in come June!! :joy:

Well so much for me waiting until Shattered Space to jump back in. Started playing again even before the update dropped.

I’ve been resisting… but it’s a struggle (I’ve been running on another Bethesda hyper-fixation phase for a few months now).

Love to see it.* The headline is cut off in the little box below, but Starfield was the only new franchise in the top 10 of most popular titles last year.

* Well, I suppose I don’t love the current reality of new IP being a hard sell, and sequels and remakes being given most attention and funding… But I love seeing Starfield success stories.

This is fantastic news, hopefully with their 2024 lineup we may even see one or two more!

Now they just need to acquire the three R’s (Roblox, Rockstar & Riot) and they will be safe - jk :face_with_tongue:.

Seems like Creation Club and Kit must be right around the corner.

I’ve been playing on both PC and Xbox, cross-save is awesome, but I assume once I install a mod on the PC those saves won’t work on the Xbox… so I’m torn on what to do.

Still, looking forward to seeing the official rollout and what people end up creating.

Not sure what happened, but quick resume is finally working for me now. It’s been busted since launch, where it would load up, but just freeze on the pause screen.

That’s a really good question, what happens to cross saves with mods.

I hope the ‘official’ ones will work cross platform, but that seems like a bridge to far.

Looking forward to the huge update next week and come June, will restart Starfield. Very excited to get back to playing what is currently my game of the generation despite the fact that I was nowhere close to completing the story campaign let alone the game itself. Hyped!! :joy:

I wonder if the Skyrim Together team were invited?
