They need Starfield to be more polished than the usual BGS releases, the counter-fire from PS community and biased media will be huge, it already is. They did not a sound call releasing a broken game in F76 (which is incredibly out of time graphic-wise, even borderline indies like TOW have better animations) and even before, F4 was great, but already obsolete technology wise, it was a minor improvement compared to Skyrim and what the generation leap warranted (at least graphically, CPU-wise no game of 8th gen is better than 7th because there was no real improvement in that department). Now I’m confident, last time there was a real overall generational leap (from 6th to 7th), they released Oblivion, which was a majestic next gen demonstration for the time.

Yep. Like you said Bethesda has to make sure this game is polished as hell. With even less bugs compared to their other games, and graphics that scream current gen. Because people are already saying Bethesda lost their footing with Fallout 76, but also worse, Bethesda inherited anti-Xbox media bias due to being purchased by Microsoft.
And, I agree the 8th generation of consoles weren’t a big leap. In fact it was my least favorite compared tp the 5th, 6th and especially 7th. The CPUs were so damn weak smdh. But with Bethesda game studios only having to focus on the Xbox Series(again JUST Xbox Series and PC, and no damn Xbox one) they should have no excuse for a not polished game but also a technological powerhouse, since they can take full advantage of the Xbox Series X CPU and GPU. Hopefully we see a TRUE generational leap with Starfield. There is no excuse there shouldn’t be one. That’s the advantage Starfield has over Horizon and GOW, two games that are cross gen.

Yeah, Bethesda is reaping the last fruits of PS biased media with Deathloop and Ghostwire, but I reckon Redfall and Starfield will be tests of consistency from outlets. XD

I promise you the vast majority of outlets are not this over zealous Playstation hivemind that only likes games based on which platform their on, and posting a few example articles of a clickbait headline doesn’t prove a point.

This is why Starfield is such an important game. A LOT of eyes are gonna be on it due to being the FIRST Xbox exclusive since the Zenimax purchase. I expect there is gonna be a lotta of nitpicking but its up to BGS to shut their ass down.

Yeah, it’s ultimately on them, their last games were very lacking from a polish and tech point of view.

Wouldnt say they are overzealous with Playstation. But they do favor the Playstation brand more than Xbox. Yes, things are getting better and things are getting back to how it was during gen 7(where things were balanced), but there are still some bias there.

So the media is showing their bias by rating it as the best game of the year via actual review scores? Doesn’t seem to add up to me.
The thing is that one has become the most influential showcase of the year, the viewership numbers prove it.

Does anyone remember or care that It Take’s Two won GOTY? It’s a good game but no one is taking these winners as some signal of merit. The Game Awards are popular because they’re one giant AD for games. And you still aren’t proving this media bias that seems to flip flop depending on the argument.

Bethesda has always gotten that extra flack for being buggy from some people yet they will ignore just how complex and unique their games are, there’s a reason they are pretty much the only devs to do these things on this scale
It is what it is, although on the flip side, I know a lot of fans that let that stuff slide because they know they arent getting these worlds and games from anywhere else, there’s a reason people are still playing these games 10-15 years later
As for the TGAs, off topic but nobody cares about those outside of fanboys, people watch for trailers, nothing more
