do you think in Starfield we can get married and have children? It was possible to get married in Skyrim with the Ring of Mara, and there were often children in the Bethesda games, the birthday party in Fallout 3, the baby in the intro in Fallout 4. Did Bethesda take it to the next level with Starfield and allow us to have children and maybe even grow old and die and then be our children ?

In Fallout Shelter we can have children

I hope this game comes out and is an absolute masterpiece.

BGS were fine until 76. Buggy yes but very fine games. I know people on this board have a hard on for 76 so I won’t get suspended trashing that game again but BGS will get it right with starfield. They have a track record even despite their last game

Just an observation, but I find it interesting that Starfield’s cover art (which looks fantastic) is very different from Fallout and the Elder Scrolls in that it features multiple characters. This makes me think Starfield’s main narrative could be more character-driven than Bethesda’s past games.

We already saw this a bit with Fallout 4. Say what you will about that game, but the way it handled companions was a huge leap over Skyrim and Fallout 3. Characters were fleshed out. I genuinely enjoyed characters like Nick Valentine and Piper.

I’m excited to see how companions are handled in Starfield.

Very good observation actually, had not thought of that myself yet. TES and Fallout art indeed wasn’t this personal looking, interesting. It reminds me of some movie posters.

Nah it’s just gonna be a fully co-op always online game GaaS /s

I do think you have a point, maybe the lady and the dude with the helmet is the player characters and the other guy is like the leader of the group thingy.

Makes me think multiple protagonists through time, like the ship gets passed down from person to person.

The worst thing FO4 did with companions is making the perks they grant permanent to you without telling you as far as I could tell. Incentivizes you to befriend all of them mechanically but I only found out when I was mostly done with the game!

Waiting for a new Starfield Video

This is an excellent observation/point, and I agree. I think we can certainly read into the artwork, and that it suggests a more character-rich narrative/experience.

Personally, I feel BGS titles have been generally undervalued for their narratives, as I’ve been captivated by every one I’ve played, but I won’t deny that the strongest, most-fleshed characters have often been the ones we make ourselves. So, I welcome their continued push toward placing more emphasis on that aspect.

Like I said in another thread. Starfield is going to be a monumental part in recent Xbox history.

It would make sense if this game is more character focused than Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Since they’re taking a more realistic approach I could imagine there aren’t very many people to interact with in outer space.

Probably more than Fallout

I do wonder how space exploration is going to even work in Starfield? I doubt its going to be some simple fast travel to planets like Starfield. Also, I really hope there is spaceship customization.

On another note, I do hope(I knew it will) that Starfield does amazingly so the narrative of, “Bethesda fell off! Just look at Fallout 76” ends. And it’ll generate even more hype for Elder Scrolls 6.

Exclusively will cause some to permanently say that they’ve fallen off with every game going forward but that can’t be helped.

Yes, that is a coping mechanism from the Cult.

If anything, being exclusive and under Microsoft/Xbox will allow Bethesda to focus on LESS platforms and take full advantage of the Xbox(and PC). I’m pretty sure BGS are relieved that they don’t have to worry about the Playstation or Nintendo(even if that type of thought may come off “anti-consumer”). Like many have said, Bethesda games ran better on Xbox.

Yes, IMO the reality is that Bethesda games will probably be better than ever in all aspects, but the intellectual dishonesty from some folks will persist nonetheless.
