Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

Nice, starting over can be weird so that’s good to hear.

The game still crashes very frequently on my Series S unfortunately. Seems to be a problem many aren’t facing. Couldn’t find any useful solutions online. No other game crashes as often as Starfield (not even close).

I also have an issue where textures won’t load properly all of the time, but I’ve experienced this issue in other games like Arkham City.

I play on Series X but found it crashed quite frequently after this latest update (I had none before), since moving to NG+ I haven’t had a single crash.

I’m wondering if you might have a similar issue where the patch has messed up your current playthrough.

I’ve personally had the issue since the game launched out of early access. I’ve been hoping an update would fix it.

Ah that sucks, hopefully they fix it for you soon!

Finished Unearthed?

I dunno if there’s one already, but it would be cool if they had a questline that makes you utilizes the outpost system in a way that feels rewarding and story-driven. I’m imagining like you build your own settlement/colony, upgrade it, manage your population to some extents to keep them healthy and alive and growing. Doesn’t have to be too in depth.

No… I’m not that far into it.

Yeah, feels like the outpost system is kind of underutilized. With some skillpoints put into it you can build some cool stuff but… why?

I would hope that they have plans for that. It’s pretty cool to make stuff work and extract & send resources to you, but more context and rewarding should be there to make it engaging for long hours.

Unearthed and Entangled are the absolute highlights of the main quest for me. Especially Entangled, shame there is a lot of complaining online due to the difficulty of the quest, but I hope it won’t discourage Bethesda from making similar quests in the future. Similar mechanics would be perfect for a haunted house mission in the next Elder Scrolls

Very cool quest, the atmosphere and navigation environmental puzzles were an interesting design, but It can be messy for sure, if they just had the scanner arrows working in that mission I don’t think people would’ve complained, yes it’s somewhat counter to the idea, but it’s better than chance of some people being frustrated.

You build bases because it’s cool, fun, and generates a bunch of resources/credits. You don’t make it a necessary part of the game because there are many, many people who don’t like base building and will whine about it being forced upon them.

I’m doing that quest now and I don’t think it’s that difficult. Yeah, the enemies are scaling pretty high, but so far the navigation is pretty clear. I only had problem with 1 area because I didn’t look around enough, in a very small area.

Yup, making base building a requirement for the Minutemen really had people dislike them. Add in the constant need to defend the bases in person if we wanted them to win fights and the constant new settlement or old settlement needs our help quest to create a disastrous first impression.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting it is forced upon anyone?

But rather having side quests involving it, making it a bit more fun to delve deeper into it for those who want to. Can’t really see the problem with that tbh.

Something I’m wondering about for anyone in NG+

Summary

Has anyone tried using the 3 powers that are printed on the rings when looking for powers? I don’t think it’s possible to do in NG on Pizzi IV-c, I just tried but one of the symbols for powers was something I didn’t have yet.

Edit: at the Tau Ceti VIII-B Temple and I’ve noticed that the symbols are the same but in a different order/on a different ring.

I think the best way to go about that is a quest line for LIST, as they help people set up independent settlements/colonies in areas that don’t have anything to do with Freestar or UC. Of course, this means they’re generally on their own and could get attacked by Spacers and Crimson Fleet without UC or Freestar patrols to help fight for them.
