Starfield |OT| You're Finally Awake... In Space!

I’m level 18 and opened up the “powers” on the top of the menu yesterday. I haven’t started the Vanguard story line yet. I’m halfway through the Crimson Fleet story line and it’s really good. Really enjoying it.

I should have explained it better. The lips don’t sync up with what the characters are saying. It always ends after/before the voice ends. It’s pretty much every character during every conversation. It’s not a major thing but something you notice.

And bring 50 potatoes.

I figure I should share the monstrosity that I turned the Frontier into, of the original ship only one of the six Habs that make up this ship is still part of it.

Been also trying to figure out thesyndicates movements for a bit as I try to sneak my way to the end. The strategy is just to run around and look at the place, find out where I need to go and what I need to get there before reloading. So far I managed to learn that even if an enemy is indicared on the watch face, that doesn’t mean they see or hear you. But I do have to proceed slowly to get by them. So far my best sneak by attempt ended with me in front of a door I needed to cut open only to find out I sold my cutter and I couldn’t proceed.

At this point you should rename it Theseus.

I saw a mod on pc that improved all the npc major and minor ones in terms of quality. I hope it comes to the xbox next year

No doubt, if Starfield looked like Cyberpunk it would be much closer to 90. Graphics are what makes the first impression the first time you see a game and even though the environments (most planets) along with the atmospherics look pretty amazing in Starfield, sometimes it looks like the game has two different graphics qualities.

Interiors in most places, details on most items in game looks great, then character faces, animations, clothing and even Atlantis look very underwhelming imo despite being the biggest city. Foliage too needs a big step up for their next game. Most of these issues are easily fixable in time for ES6, I’m sure Xbox will already be looking to provide assistance in better mocap etc.

It makes sense that Xbox current best game FH5 is also the best-looking game. Same will happen with Fable. It takes both good games + graphics these days.

For Neon missions where you aren’t supposed to kill people, can you get by just using EM weapons instead of stealthing?

I want to get some use out of my EM gun and avoid sinking more than 1 point into stealth (only wanted to unlock the stealth meter).

I think it’s unfortunate that using EM weapons on friendly NPCs really pisses off the Constellation crew. If the crew was okay with you stunning a random guard every now and then (like how their okay with stealing and pickpocketing), EM guns would have actually been useful.

Sometimes the morality of the crew is a bit too strict imo. For example, Sarah disliked that I stole a tea recipe for a guy who runs a coffee shop. Like Sarah, we killed people and now you’re upset about some tea. Another crew member disliked that I made a joke about being an alien to the crew of the generation ship in the First Contact mission.

I think you can use those yes, I just didn’t have one I liked. I believe before the first stealth mission you get handed one of those guns and are told to use it if you have to. If I had one that I had suppressed I’d probably have gone that route. Also make sure you tell your companion to stay put at the edge of the quest area for both, that way they don’t tip people off to you.

I just don’t take them with me! Problem solved.

I’ve so far been able to fully stealth Neon missions (Walter’s main mission, the Striker gang mission etc.) without spending any points in stealth. Just crouch walk as slow as possible and tell your companions to wait so they don’t alert the guards.

I don’t know if other missions are impossible if you don’t have points in stealth. I guess we’ll see.

Imo stealth in this game is a mixed between FO4 and Skyrim. So how armor weight is taken into account like in Skyrim, but you can stealth everywhere.

As for character likes and dislikes, I’m currently running with Sam and I was doing a mission to kill someone for someone. He liked that I said I wasn’t there to kill the person, he disliked that I let them go because the person is kind of no better than the Ecliptic.

Sorry forgot to add, don’t worry too much on what companions like and dislike, as long as you’re not playing as a murder bot 9000 and intentionally trying to do as much bad things as possible just to be the bad guy™. Companion affinity will still fill up and you will get their mission. If you still think you may not fill the affinity meter, buy some affinity drugs to get a boost for all their likes.

There are missions in the Faction Quest that are ‘hard’ I’m not sure about impossible without some stealth investment. But you do get some stuff to help…

It’s not just strick but sometimes confusing. I sometimes don’t know why Andreja dislike my action.

I just dumped all of them and just invest points into the perk Isolation and I’m very happy with my decision.

Andreja dislikes crime, but hates actions that seem too passive. She likes the confident and aggressive dialogue options.

I know, but sometimes she dislike my choice and I’m like whatever.

Anyways running around solo is the better option for me because I’m playing a stealth character.

Starfield in many ways looks better than Cyberpunk 77, only the Facial animation and face models are really lacking in SF but they are still a major leap compared to previous Bethesda tittles.

Thanks this is great to know. I’ve been overly concerned about missing out on the companion quests. I invested into the leadership skill that increases affinity, so it sounds like I should be all good.

I want to do this on my second playthrough for sure. Sounds very fun.

I went against my usual RP-style and created a very good and kind character this time around so the companions fit in very well with that. I’m about done with the fourth quest.

However, it would have been a bummer if I did my usual neutral-good asshole. I wish there was more diverse companions. Would probably not fit with Constellation but there should be options outside it.
