Nothing bad, haha. People just excited to see their work finally being launched. Im sure you have read how many single point failures there are, I am sure there is a collective butt clenching lol.
Pretty crazy that decades of work could literally be for nothing if even one thing goes wrong.
Been hearing about this telescope for ages though, and it is exciting to know that text books will undoubtedly have to be rewritten in the coming years if everything goes smoothly.

yeah this telescope will expand our very perspective of the universe quite literally. The Hubble was largely based on visible and ultraviolet range whereas JW with its larger mirrors and a bigger focus on infrared will help us see farther parts of the universe that have gotten red shifted and find answers that Hubble could not, at least not by design. So in that sense it’s not a replacement, but an extension, a successor. Like a relay, where Hubble’s job is kinda done and it’s passing on the baton to JW to take on the next step in our astronomical discovery. Super excited for the launch, hoping it goes well, it has to.

This rocket has to be strong enough to break out of Earths gravity and then they have to fly it so far into outer space and to a certain area that people may never touch it again.
It’s so crazy to think of how they managed to do all the math and science for this stuff so everything’s perfect, since they don’t have much room for errors with this.

Yes, but it’s still not fully deployed and functional. It will need to reach the L2 point where it will orbit, which will take around a month during which it will deploy and unfold and its different critical instruments, like the sun shields and mirrors. The unfolding and deployment process is the most critical, there’s 300 points of failure, meaning 300 different pieces in the deployment process, if only one fails, the whole thing fails.

This game releasing on a Friday holiday here in the US(Veteran’s Day) is unbelievable. It’s been a long time since I’ve played any game for more than like 3 or 4 hours straight, but day one this might be a double digit hours session for me.
