It’s like the Citadel from Mass Effect all over again. I should be getting on with meeting the Constellation people to deliver the artifact, but wandering around doing side quests has me hooked right now.
I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say this is the o one of the best character creators I’ve seen, maybe Cyberpunks was better? Can’t recall, but definitely not as many options, besides one specific one
I have been switching between laptop and Xbox. Although doing quick turns looks definitely worse on console the HDR seems to be much better.
Also the Series X is definitely quieter than my laptop so for now I’m switching back to the Xbox.
I don’t want to go to work tomorrow!!!
Love to see it, wild to think they went into full production in like 2019 or whatever then the pandemic hit. ES6 will most likely have a much better dev time, by the time it’s out it’ll either be next gen or they would’ve got a handle on the consoles so it should be optimised and look fantastic.
So Im having to turn off HDR10 in the Series X settings to help the washed out colors until they provide a real HDR fix.
Lame cause I have to turn it back on everytime Im done playing the game but its better than nothing and the game looks much better.
Xbox needs an option to disable HDR on a per game basis, Many games seem to launch now with similar HDR washed out issues.
I tried Morrowind for the first time this year and an hour into it, I was done lol. I don’t need my hand held but I needed a little more direction lol
So for you SDR is significantly better than HDR? It really seems to differ per person, different TVs and all of course too.
We really do need such an option, perhaps the same way how we enable auto HDR and fps boost. HDR lately seems to have gotten better, especially Xbox exclusives. But you probably mean third party games? Yeah it sadly stays a mixed bag.
Was playing on Pc yesterday, but man, it looks so good on series X on my OLED and that 30fps feels really good actually, definitely happy, so much that I think I’ll keep playing on console instead.
I personally love how it looks. It reminds me of the Last Jedi colour palette, absolutely gorgeous to me.
I usually instantly turn off film grain in 99% of the games I play but I’m keeping it on for this.
They’ll have Xbox’s full support for the next 5 years or so it will be in dev and seeing what they’ve been able to manage on even the Series S…
Personally I think they will do an Oblivion and be next gen launch window game
Morrowind is a pain to play for the first time especially in this day and age. But once you know what to do it’s an amazing experience.
As the last Jedi is one of my favourite Star Wars films, this really sells me.
Long story short, I restarted the game and while the Bounty Hunter background is the same, I changed one trait. I eliminated Freestar Collective Settler in favor of Alien DNA. Introvert and Wanted remain the same. Reason why is because I decided that I didn’t want any trait to do with any faction or religion. I’m finally on New Atlantis so im happy.
Ship combat is good but it’s a pain in the ass to know where the enemy ships are and takes forever to locate them and this is me playing in third person for the ship combat. I’m playing the rest of the game though in first person because the shooting feels better than third person.
i have a laptop with a 3070ti and I am getting a stable 60fps on 1440p resolution and on high graphic setting. I am pondering if I should play lower res on my laptop and hook it up to TV. I might just opt with series x for now, but interesting option to have
Usually in BGS games I tolerate the bland combat in order to experience the fantastic world exploration and general sense of open-ended adventure. Here, surprisingly, it’s the other way round: shooting my way through space stations and mines, and fighting other ships from the cockpit in outer space, are the most compelling parts of the game, whereas the exploration isn’t doing much for me. The gameplay loop of hiking across mostly barren planets, scanning flora/fauna and having sites of interest pointed out to you in the distance is already becoming a little dull. I haven’t stumbled upon anything unexpected or interesting making my way across a planet on foot in the way I did in previous Elder Scrolls games, for example, and I miss that aspect.
I also have mixed feelings about the setting and overall art style of the game. The ships and space stations look incredible and I love navigating them. Bethesda absolutely nailed the aesthetic there. These are the most impressive spacecraft interiors since Alien Isolation. But the outdoor landscapes aren’t doing a whole lot for me - all a bit too realistic for my taste, maybe. And the living spaces on the surface are really quite … clinical so far, like furniture showrooms almost - again, probably because of the straight, realistic modernity of everything. Aesthetically these locations bring to mind a kind of cutting edge, next-gen remake of Second Life. Compare the homely, rustic little cottages you move into in Oblivion or Skyrim, to the soulless Ikea showroom of your ‘dream home’ in Starfield - I couldn’t wait to get out of there!

The Last Jedi is tied with Return of the Jedi as the best looking Star Wars film, in my opinion.
