Is this 2023 or 2003?

Never understood the obsession with an announcement of x game gone gold.

Here is the an example that it doesn’t matter.

Gone gold basically just means disc ready.

Yes, but a lot of people think that it means it’s ready for release.

And I wouldn’t be scared that the physical version is delayed.

Going gold in this era of patches is just a marketing beat now

I don’t think every review will be like that, but I wouldn’t be shocked if several are.

Probably on that “3d” display on times square as well.

I don’t think there is deliberate lowering of review scores generally for Xbox games, there’s plenty of highly reviewed Xbox games. With this one though you could already sense it with the bullshit articles, it feels like there’s a cloud of anger at the game because it was naturally gonna be multiplatform and on Playstation but Xbox took it away, this situation also remind me of Rise of the Tomb Raider for example, like Xbox isn’t allowed to take big games away from Playstation but vice versa is perfectly fine and even celebrated lol

Can’t wait to see the reaction to Elder Scrolls 6 being Xbox exclusive :slightly_smiling_face:

Those 3D ad displays are actually cool

Best advertisment Starfield could do would be to do something with NASA and/or SpaceX. They could actually bring in people that are not into video games through the game, to Xbox and Game Pass. This is something that can totally be done later post-launch not necessarily before launch.

This nonsense has been happening since the Bethesda acquisition. It’s actually quite fascinating to observe, because it’s not just the rabid Sony fanboys on twitter etc. but also the Sony warriors in the gaming press. There are many outlets that have been laying the groundwork to destroy Starfield once it releases.

No doubt if this game released on PS5 or was a Sony exclusive, the praise would be endless. The ponys have no one to blame but Sony for this scenario, as Sony’s pursuit of Starfield exclusivity ultimately triggered the Bethesda acquisition. Sony knew it’s going to be a landmark title and no amount of fanboy angst will change that fact.

It’s also funny to read the coping mechanism they devised - Star Wars Outlaws + No Mans Sky + Baldurs Gate 3 > Starfield. If anyone has been paying attention since the showcase, a few articles were written about this formula. Absolutely ridiculous

The onus is now on Microsoft to give Starfield that exposure it deserves and plow through all the negativity that will no doubt be hurled at it

I really think that large RPG games like this really shouldn’t “Go Gold” until 1 year after release and include the top community submitted MODs in the release.

 Interesting tweet! Whatever it is, it feels unreal that in just a few weeks or maybe even less we’re about to get official previews from people who are likely playing Starfield right now, so many years of anticipation and the game is almost here.

I agree with this and there has been one outlet in particular that I have seen with plenty of negative Starfield articles already, it could be the one called “PCGamer” but I’m not 100% sure, I think being skeptical is fine but I have seen far more than just skepticism from Starfield and it’s clear that the fact that such a big title will be Xbox exclusive has many people in the games media not very happy, it’s just not the status quo they’ve gotten used to especially in the last decade or so and I expect more of this blatant bias when even more bigger games are Xbox ecosystem exclusive, next big one is probably a new IP from ABK.

I wonder if NZ trick will work for the game, but can’t wait for the 31st. I need to make sure I have the day off

I really hope so, my plan is to take Friday off so I can get 3 full days with the game and if the NZ trick works on this one then that can easily be 3 days and a half.

No, it is a global launch at 8pm EDT on August 31st.

Global launches are always more hype

Thank goodness for pre-downloads, everyone downloading the game at the same time sounds rough, even for MS servers

He probably got his code. Or it’s something entirely different. Seeing comments there that they hope he isn’t drunk, lmao.

Yeah knowing Jez he’ll probably tweet later saying he was referring to something entirely different.
