Yep, and it’s not like I need it, not at all. The Direct has shown everything, I would argue it has shown too much but it was necessary. I could have tuned off, didn’t, haha.
Juicehead has a new leak and covered it in a new video, but I’m like…guys, you really want to see and learn more? I sure as hell don’t.
To be perfectly honest, if im buying a game digitally and there’s going to be post launch expansions (like Starfield and Remnant 2 for example), im automatically going with the highest priced version so I can yes, start playing a few days before the “official release”. I know it’s all a ploy to get the consumer to spend more money but if im going to be buying it anyway, I figure that it’s better to just go with the highest priced edition so I can play it earlier.
For Remnant 2, the ultimate edition includes a bunch of extra items, the three expansions and 3 days early access so for me, im going to be buying all of this anyway so why not just do it sooner? Plus, im off that weekend from work so I can play the game. I will take the 1st/2nd/3rd of September off so I can start Starfield.
In general, the upgraded versions always include expansions and whatnot in addition to the early access so you’re not just paying to play the game three days earlier. You’re paying for extra items/cosmetics and most importantly, future expansion(s).
Also, unless it’s a co-op/multi-player PvP game, I will never see any issue with early access as it simply comes down to - “do you want to pay a little more to play early or do you just want to wait?”
I can see there being a launch trailer for Starfield during the Xbox showcase at Gamescom.
In Avowed defense. It’s not going for that dark ultra realistic look. Avowed is Pillars of Eternity, in 1st person. When you think of Avowed like that and don’t think of it as a Skyrim clone, it make much more sense. The people disappointed by Aowed showing, must have think it will be a Skyrim clone, which it is clearly not. Avowed is Pillars of Eternity universe extension.
I don’t really think Xbox needs a winter showcase there’s plenty of places for them to show their games. I feel like they should just pack a meaningful punch at the following events, and save the rest for next summer.
gamescon. I think Xbox should have a bigger presence here. It’s a huge event and Xbox hasn’t done to much here in recent years. With Phil saying he’s gunna be there I expect a few announcements. Aoe4 on console at the least.
quakecon. I have a feeling ID software is about to announce a quake reboot. Perfect place to do so. I could be wrong of course, but it was rumored a to be in development and I can’t see anyone else doing it.
blizzcon. Assuming the activision deal goes through of course. Fully expect blizzard to announce their big survival game(new IP) that’s been in development for 5+ years.
TGS. Xbox’s presence has been weak here for the most part. But if they have any Japanese content on the way, it’s the place.
the game awards. Perfect place to drop trailer for kojima’s game, among other things.
Iv watched that starfield direct at least 8 times since it came out. I do think this may be one ofthe best games of the gen. im still waiting till after I 1000/1000 armored core to play it though
was the footage from the direct from a pc or series x? I think ryan from IGN said he got to play on series x and the direct just said in game footage. I dont want to be fooled like they did with redfall
And at first I thought they just meant XSX version of Starfield is what IGN played. But it says “shown”, so do they mean the Direct footage or when IGN played it? Because shown is odd wording, Ryan played it.
I don’t think this is a concern. Phil said on Xcast that they need to get better about showing what console players can expect to be playing. Even if the Direct was on PC, it will probably be at console settings.
Given how much footage was in the Direct, I think it’s likely that we saw a mixture of console and PC footage.
im kind of tempted to build a pc because i need one of my own and not use my work computer. I was thinking of going after these 1440 or 1080 p specs and then build a beefy pc for next gen
