4 Main cities is a lot.
lmao.
He did say New Atlantis is bigger than any of their previous cities so that might be a good enough sign that focusing on the smaller number may not be as necessary. Just hoping that isnāt just a horizonal quantitative assessment based on sheer sq miles it takes up but actual density of experience and interactivity and lore and such. The trailer didnāt do a great job at showing how big the city is, it looked more like a college campus lol. But I get it, maybe they want to keep that a surprise.
yeah I have no context what a bethesda city means exactly. Surely, itās not a Night City each, that much is clear.
give me that juicy vertical density
I want a New Atlantis that actually looks like the concept art, what they showed was perhaps just the Constellation campus. I wanna ride away from the city and below it and see up and across and have it look like this
Btw why has absolutely no one talked about local vehicular traversal?
Are we just gonna walk and run everywhere after landing from a ship?
What kind of vehicles will there be for on surface traversal, any idea?
bro??
So in Skyrim there was a few cities that were all quite small but they were very handcrafted - every building had a purpose and a occupant and other than guards NPCs were named characters with routines and so on. Fallout 4 was slightly different since itās meant to be the post-apocalyptic ruins of Boston and the city was more a part of the open world than an active city - but the actual ācitiesā (as in the NPC hub locations) within the game were similarly unique and full of named NPCs and explorable buildings etc. Iām not sure what to expect from Starfield but I think itāll be closer to what weāve seen in previous games than Night City and itās array of empty streets.
I wonder if this means we wonāt see a spin off Fallout at all before that, probably not.
Wait for Fallout 5 is gonna be painful, but there will be plenty of RPG goodness anyway.
Yeah, from online discussions it feels like people have forgotten aboout what Bethesda games are.
hmm got it.
Iām wondering what these four cities are and if we already know of most of them.

This part I liked too, as if there was any doubt, well plenty from Twitter and what not, not me
"We have done more handcrafting in this game, like content wise than any game weāve done, with over 200 lines of dialogue.
We still do a lot of handcrafting and people just wanna do what theyāre used to in our games and follow the main quest and do the quest lines youāre gonna see what you kind of expect from us. "
Oh man I hope so much this releases on time.
Happy to know that thereās a 30-40 hour story campaign. Hoping all the handcrafted stuff is part of the story campaign.
There was Cydonia or something, from 4chan leak.
What Todd and Pete said today was confirmation of some things I thought before.
- The procedural 10000+ planets are optional additive content meant for immersion and to extend engagement and different play styles
- Can be played more normally and guided, just follow the story/quests and handcrafted content, and they distinguish that for you
- Space travel not fully controlled, will be some kind of fast travel/ in-game loading sequence between space & planet surface. This is double edged because full control would be more immersive but also maybe some trouble on other aspects. Separating the surface and space gameplay spaces could be a better option, but weāll see.
And the side quests!!!
After some of those caves in Skyrim that had some very unique and cool level designs I hope to see lots of this.
Seamless travel between space and surface is a logistical nightmare especially at scale. NMS does it because thatās one of the main things it focuses on to begin with, Starfield has a whole lot of other shit to manage and have work, so yeah never expected that from the game, not surprised this is confirmed.
Maybe weāll get some remakes/remasters to tide us over till then. Weāre probably in an awkward position right now with a lot of studios being busy but I hope by the time Fallout 5 comes out that theyāve started working on more consistent side games for the series. Bethesda clearly doesnāt want the core series leaving their offices, and thatās fine, but Microsoft has plenty of RPG studios that could give their take on a Fallout game. Hell, it doesnāt even have to be an RPG - Iād love to see a true survival game set in the fallout universe or an RTS pitting the in universe factions against super mutants and raiders.
Wondering what the equivalent of dungeons would be. Yeah maybe it doesnāt make much sense for dungeons to exist in such a game but I would like something to give off the similar feeling to finding and exploring dungeons. Maybe things like abandoned colonies or labs and stuff like that.
Everything about this sounds so good!
The only thing that gives me a little pause is the ancient artifacts thing. I hope that discovering the secrets of ancient alien technology isnāt the main thrust of the story just because that feels like something thatās been done a million times (Mass Effect even retreaded it twice within the same series. )
