Can’t commit to everything because that obviously wouldn’t be true. We’ll just have to see if Switch/PS/PC stops.

For now, moneyhats and very niche games (such as Harvestella and Paranormasight) that only launch on Switch/PC (so anything that also skips PS), and anything that only releases in Japan (Dragon Quest X Offline as a recent example) are what I’m not expecting.

Pretty much. I’m not really expecting anything else FF related (FF9 remake) either until I see an Xbox logo under it when the first trailer drops.

Believe it or not, this is a big deal. Once more, the game is their money. Think it like cloud for Microsoft. The CEO didn’t need to do that. If we do see games like FF7R, then it’s time to start believing.

Honestly feela like Square was on the finding out end of fucking around and 16s middling sales was the result.

FF16 sales are just fine but it’s just not healthy or growing the franchise that way. Let’s hope they finally get it and realize growing a franchise means you release it multiplatform.

Wouldn’t be surprised if in a random TGS FF:VII R is announced as a gamepass game.

Really glad that Xbox has been making progress with SE. There has been a few comments from the devs on FFXIV, with them saying they want to release it for Xbox, so I’m curious what was holding it up. Hopefully this leads to more support.

While I expect better Square support, FF7R is one I expect Sony to keep locked down

Not easy porting a game like that on top of the server capacity issues

I feel like letting the first part go and having another 2 years on part 2 would only be good marketing for them and attract folks to their ecosystem

Microsoft should remove gold or whatever it’s called for subscription based games like FF14.

I think that was initially one of the requirements that kept the game from coming to Xbox. Don’t believe it’s required for MMOs

I think you need gold for ESO, but you can play ESO without a subscription.

Yeah I get that. The issue seemed more than technical though and gave me the impression that it was more corporate politics or policy disagreement related.

Could have sworn one of the previous reasons for there not being a port was Xbox not allowing cross play, which seemed extremely weird considering their openness to it in the past. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s why they even specifically mention crossplay with the announcement.

I wouldn’t mind getting Trials of Mana on Xbox now.

The problem with doing FF7R stuff right now is that Sony still has the next 2 games locked down so in a way it’s like promoting Sony exclusives because inevitably there will be people who play FF7R on Xbox and then want to play part 2 so they grab it on PS5.
