Did the same. Also it shows up on the store i bought the regular when i actuallyl got the premium. For some reason im able to still pay for the dlc and premium editioon. Luckily i did install them prior. But if i was to delete my game…wth is going on. I dont blame ms for this tbh. I blame atlus. Because they did something with the versions of the games as the bundles changed and the SKU probably did too.
Absolutely fucking moronic why this wasnt recognised as they were testing. It completely changes the perspective on the dungeons. I immediately changed the camera and the automatic camera adjustment setting. Someone at Q and A needs to be fired for this. It undoubtedly had an effect on the reviews as many complained about it.
Anyhow back to the game. Really enjoying it. Its clearly low budget but has a great charm and art style. VA is also very good. Its a ps2 era jrpg but with modern visuals and im perfectly fine with that. Its not a persona 5 goty calibur but doesnt need to be. Im might go for the 1000 on this. Will be the 2nd jrpg i get 1000 on hopefully.
Who says they didnt catch it during testing? QA files bugs and issues and production has to prioritize which is fixed or not in what timeframe. Some other stuff was more important for release and day 1 patch.
Seems he was gonna be the protag and Ringo was gonna be like this game’s “Nemissa” from SH1. Ringo is more unique as the protag (it’s also very nice to have a Megaten protag who isn’t silent!) but I too was thinking “he could easily be the protag” when playing the opening.
Should I just be moving on and evolve demons 24/7 after maxing their skills out? I didn’t realize I could only carry 12 at a time until getting to the circus.
These are the nicest demons I’ve ever seen in a Megaten game. They all want to give me things and join my team for just some money.
I remember on Soul Hackers 1 I was struggling so hard at the beginning because I couldn’t get any demons to join me
Fusing off weak, maxed out demons into stronger ones is typically what you want to be doing throughout these games (I’ve not gotten to demon fusion on this game yet though)
Typically yes in these games, like saintsflow20 said, and that’s how it’s looking since the game pretty much tells you that a demon levels more slowly when it’s learned everything it can.
I’ve also just gotten to the demon fusion part at level 10, and was only able to do 2 fusions, with a special fusion on the horizon.
It is a bit strange not to get scammed and roughed up regularly, but it’s not a bad way of making the games more accessible. I remember I managed to die during the tutorials of both SMT III AND IV, that would probably put off most people.
I’m really enjoying the game so far (5 or 6 hours in) but level design and side quest are really boring.
I’m going to make less side quest and focus on the main which has a good pace, I hope the game last at least 20 hours with just the main quest.
Its a blatant accessability issue that the designers missed and testers didnt bother flagging. Why would they patch it post reelase? Because of complaints? They should have seen that before. Had a big effect in reviews.
But i shouldnt blame testers. This was a design choice that backfired and failed.
Whoever said SMT IV has a forgettable OST must have had broken 3DS speakers!
I love the brutal difficulty of SMT. SMTIV was my first first Megaten game (yes, I played it before I ever played Persona) and finally beating Minotaur with the above track playing… really gave me a feeling of fighting for my life lol. Loved it. And I was really happy SMT V retained the difficulty, though I think SMT IV is the better game.
Damn I wish SMT IV would be ported off the 3DS someday!
I just want to say that I just reached Demon Fusion and as someone who’s favorite aspect of Megaten games is the fusion mechanic, it feels so surreal that I’m doing this on my Xbox
I will say, Soul Hackers 1 had a much more interesting world so far. Soul Hackers 1 had dungeons like a cold storage, an astronomy museum, an airport, a VR art gallery, a VR haunted house, and the VR town that was essentially “the metaverse”. The story was fun too, evil corporation wants to use this VR game to take over the world (the in game CEO villain was somewhat based on Bill Gates lmao).
Don’t get me wrong this game is pretty decent, though so far I think it was a missed opportunity to not use similar story themes and stuff, considering how far the internet’s come since SH1 and stuff like that (I’m still quite early so maybe I shouldn’t comment yet. But as I sad, I think SH1 had more interesting dungeon locations by this point in the hours I’ve played)
