Hm. You got an analyst thinking Halo is no longer owned by Microsoft. No wonder Destiny has to be rubbed with “Halo.”
Who was that lol
I don’t get the logic of that at all. Do these people think MS was using Bungie’s IP all this time or something? Lmao.
I believe it was Cramer. They were talking about FTC reviewing Microsoft for bit and said Microsoft would want it since they lost Halo or something along the line. So yeah.
DA FUCK
It’s what happens when you have no knowledge outside of your field. It’s like movies with trailer that says, “From the creator of whatever popular title that you may liked” just to get your attention.
As an avid Destiny player on Xbox, this news kind of sucks because I know all the future dope cosmetics will be PS Exclusive lol. I wonder how that will work with Crossplay though. I still believe there will be exclusive content to PS down the road too.
Anyway, this is good for Bungie and Sony. Not mad at it. I wanted Xbox to bring Bungie home but not at the expense of their asking price and staying independent. Not a fan of the Minecraft type acquisitions in general(as a gamer ignoring the business side).
Again makes sense.
That it does. Though going to add Warzone soon.
The anecdote trying to distinguish Playstation as a company that cares about people in contrast to Xbox
Here’s a thought that I don’t think anyone has mentioned. If Bungie went to Microsoft first and asked for $2B which was declined and that they then accepted Sony’s $3.6B deal but remain independent and multi-platform, could it be that’s not what Microsoft wanted? In other words, this kind of gives you the hint that if Microsoft acquires you, once all contracts are wrapped up, your ass is exclusive to the Xbox eco-system. Meaning that if a development studio and whatnot don’t want to be exclusive, then well, Microsoft doesn’t want you.
Or am I just looking too much into this?
Strange comparison, MC has more users than Destiny and Fortnite combined, lol.
I think you are right, MS wants all their games tied to GP, at least the new ones, for them the conditions asked by Bungie made no sense.
I have a hard time believing current Capcom shareholders would be thrilled to sell. This would need a very hefty premium.
when capcom was in a shit place during ps3/360 era, all the shareholders did to the owning family was vote to remove buyout protections (as a warning shot)
now that capcom is seeing immense successfully (MHrise on switch will most likely be capcoms highest selling single SKU) and the family still owns a large portion, I guess premium for capcom is 100%+ easily
It’s weird for people trying to compare to Bethesda deal with the choice of words. Phil’s words before acquisition was designed to be dodgy since Xbox didn’t own them at the time. Jim’s words already confirmed the plan behind it; no hidden words behind it. It’s the Minecraft for Sony. I think some really, really, hoping for exclusive games.
Seems about right man. But that makes me wonder if MS would make exceptions like if they were to acquire a Japanese pub or studio and they want to keep bringing games to Nintendo. Goes for Sony too, Bungie made it happen, not Sony.
Yea the verbiage being used is WAY more direct to that point then MS ever said and yet people have been saying MS is going 3rd party of the last decade.
If it comes to pass I hope Sony fans will deal with the idea that they can’t rally behind a box anymore
I actually worry about some Sony fans and their mental health if that were to happen. I’m not even joking, I legit worry about them sometimes.
Yea they are a nutty lot where their identity is WAY WAY to attached to that console Box and they flip their shit when ever anything might disrupt that even in the slightest.
Facts.
Personally I hope we don’t go beyond consoles (completely) anytime soon. It’s probably gonna be a while because nothing compares to playing a game natively, streaming isn’t there at all and I wonder what it’s gonna take and how long before consoles are no longer a thing.
