Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Probably not right away, we did get an update to fix some issues but I don’t remember the menu being mentioned. also one thing is that my old menu replacers aren’t replacing the new gold amulet of kings background after pressing a button.

I love BGS, but yeah…this is just bad.

Is it completely broken for anyone else now? So last year before the last December update the main menu still lagged (ridiculous, but it at least worked) and now it’s completely fucked up. It basically just completely freezes on the main menu. It seems to register some button presses like dpad and also insanely laggy.

I googled it and it’s indeed an issue that was introduced with the latest patch. Truly just ridiculous, how man? How.

So I just experienced something similar, but it seemed to be fixed as soon as I cleared my reserved space for mods. I’m guessing you weren’t playing with mods though?

Not mods, no. But do you mean reserved space that you can delete via manage game and apps?

Yes, it’s under the saved data section. When it’s deleted it erases all mods even the Creation Club stuff.

I guess I could try that. Maybe I’ll remove all my own saves too since my plan was to start a new playthrough anyway. But if that still doesn’t fix it…I guess I gotta wait for a new patch. Apparently it’s the patch of this month that broke it.

I just don’t get why BGS isn’t taking better care of this, honestly. QA is still nothing to write home about there.

Well, clearing the reserved space and deleting the save files didn’t help a thing.

It works when I let the Xbox go offline and then start the game. As soon as I go back online the menu is completely stuck.

It starts just like you did here, but with a couple more steps.

Man I wish they put out a fix for some of the jarring stuttering the game goes through. Its so noticeable even with VRR.

Should be no reason this game goes through this kind of stuff on this console.

Sadly the person says you need to press X on main menu to download everything. Sounds like he means buy the AE edition and I’m not gonna do that. Certainly not with the state it’s now in.

It’s honestly inexcusable really for such a beloved game by them to have it in this state. SE was fine, I didn’t have any issues. AE should not have replaced SE at all when you mess it up this badly.

Truly hope BGS improves in one thing soon, the thing called QA.

I think that it should still work as SE still downloads several creation club items that are free.

I’ll give this a shot tomorrow, because today it’s Halo time and in the evening time to Mario Kart with buddies and also Gang Beasts. :slight_smile:

Well, I tried it exactly as he said and it’s still stuck on the main menu. But there is a way to play the game and still be online too.

Go offline, start game and load the save file. While in-game hop into Xbox network settings and go online, hop back into game and it’s fine. The main menu is the one and only issue for me.

Truly unbelievable how long it’s taking them to fix this, just wtf, I’m sorry.

Yeah that is not good, hopefully now that the holidays are over, they can have someone look into fixing it.

The guy gave a few more tips, but it’s sadly not helping. If I want to play the game I can either do that offline or start it offline and during gameplay go back online but as soon as I go to the main menu it’s stuck. So I can’t even access the free SE content like Saints and Seducers.

Fucking ridiculous.

Quick resume once again fails me. If it werent cause I quicksave before doing it Id lose a lot more progress.
