Senua's Saga: Hellblade II | Preview Round Up

Can’t wait to get stuck in. Folks can expect gameplay across PC (21:9 Ultrawide with all the bells and whistles turned to the max) as well as 4K 30 Console Gameplay to be a part of the review

I am definitely interested in giving it a try. I do love the look of the combat. I wasn’t a huge fan of the original, but if this one grabs me when I play it on GP then I will definitely purchase.

I wonder how my AMD 5800X3D and 3070ti will handle the game…

Haven’t gamed in months but looking forward to this.

I’m not watching any of it myself, but enjoy.

First game was a budget indie and this game with MS backing looked to be a full fledged sequel…noone would have guessed it would be a 50 bucks.

I think a lot of us projected our expectations onto them. Myself included.

We assumed the next natural step was for them to become our answer to Santa Monica/ND with MS’s backing but with hindsight, that was pretty unfair of us. Especially considering we didn’t take into account in what Ninja Theory wanted and it’s clear they like the intimacy of having a small and nimble studio.

Question, are you going to play it at 30fps or 60? I actually don’t even know if there’s an option, but I was thinking I’d be spoiled by 60 and then going to 30 on the sequel.

I might go with 30 considering that it’s not a fast paced action game.

I’m one of those weirdos who can’t really tell the difference, so… :man_shrugging:

Whatever is the default, I suppose.

There’s an option. I chose to go with 30 for the reason you stated.

As for the first one, is the quality mode a big enough visual difference compared to the performance mode? I do not mind 30fps either.

I played the game on my One X and I haven’t checked the game after the Series X patch but IIRC there is a mode with ray tracing enabled.

Yep, I don’t think that was an outlandish assumption.

I’m liking going to use my tvs options to push the black bars out of the screen. If the game doesn’t give me the option in settings.

30 isn’t the end of the world if its near locked 30. And as you say the action is fairly slow paced. Just hoping its a lot more interesting than the first

If i’m playing 30fps the black bars won’t bother me as its far more cinematic.

When a game like this is producing production and immersion on this level i dont think the fps is a significant factor. Id love it to be 60 but im not disappointed that its not being achieved given the visuals.

It looks like a level above anything we’ve seen on consoles. Alan Wake 2 and this feel like the next gen experience we were promised from the hardware.

I just don’t like the bars over and below the screen for anything I play. I do enjoy the 4:3 aspect though, black bars at the sides, because it makes reading a hud data easier for me.

That would look awful, stretching the image

Eh, I have never liked the decision for black bars on the top and bottom of the screen, so either I do this or just not try the game.
