As someone who doesn’t really know much more than Sonic/Yakuza, what are the big things that SEGA do?

They are still big in hardware for arcades, so they could presumably do something for Xbox to get more retail presence.
I feel like I probably should know them but I do not lol
There was that one Halo arcade thing haha Raven team six or something like that
Atlus makes Persona, and a ton of JRPG’s over its history

Ah ok well that would be cool to get some of those games on Xbox either by them buying SEGA or a partnership. Is there any huge cult classics they could revive?

I think there are some Japanese laws that make it hard for American companies to purchase Japanese publishers. However, I could absolutely see Sega added to GP like EA Play is going to be … I could also see MS collaborating on some old Sega IP’s for refresh
Or Hell, MS just buys up some of the Sega IP’s and establishes a Japanese studio or two. Lots of ways it could go. Sammy could just sell Sega to MS, as a one-time deal … Who knows?
After the success of Persona on PC, I think you will see Persona 5 come to both PC/XBox like DQ11 recently did. I think that is almost a given, and will be at TGS tomorrow
IF there is something in these clues specifically they all seem focussed on Sonic - blue, still iconic, sonic next to green drinks etc…
So is it something to do with Sonic more than a Sega/MS partnership?
Sega games on GP seems most likely…but wonder if there is a new Sonic game in the works?
I agree that CAPCOM would be bigger, but Atlus and Yakuza ain’t something to scoff at either.
It depends what the plans are though. Sega has some great RPG IP that Xbox’s RPG powerhouses could take a reinvent. The lore etc is already built and is great.
Imagine all the possibilities.
Work close with the guys responsible for Sor4, Battletoads, Sonic Mania, Monster Boy and give them Golden Axe, Greendog, Kid Charmeleon, Sonic 2d, while continuing to work with new Sor and Battletoads.
Assemble a jrpg team to work on shinning force, skies of Arcadia, Blue Dragon, Sakura Wars, Lost Odyssey and others.
Try and get folks like Yuji Naka, Futatsugi back to continue working on experimental stuff.
Have unique games like Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxy on gamepass (they should make a Crazy Taxi Battle Royale XD)
There’s just so much potential there

Im not even sure how to usher Sonic into the modern era…
Imagine a Sonic Platformer that takes characteristics that Ori or Child of Light had, I think Sonic would do very well with something like that.
