Not every sega game. But I would like hd remasters of skies of Arcadia.
I’d take most of their arcade catalog. Particularly the games that never made it to home consoles. This will never happen but it would be amazing if it did.
Actually that alliance might bring other companies aboard, those ones that haven’t chosen AWS yet. Not to mention Microsoft has a strong office suite and workflow tools.
This would be them covering a story. Talking to people, getting information, collating that into an article.
Hey there’s a super cool Xbox Wu-Tang game and another real gem from the Banner Saga devs. That’s them leaking shit and I honestly don’t need to know any of that, lol.
I rather would have liked a Horde, but okay.
This seems like fantastic news, I’d they also are using dev tools and not just azure, then it could just mean to acclimate them to Microsoft’s dev culture.
This might be really good, also a way to get Sega back to pumping out games and for MS to gsin influence without having to jump through hoops of shareholders as buying Sega would be a lot harder than a non publicly traded company.
So does anybody have a long-and-short of what this means to me?
Oh.
This seems big.
Didn’t Grubb say a while back that he heard an American company was investing big into an Asian/Japanese company?
I could have sworn he said that.
Indeed he did. Let’s hope that was Xbox investing in Capcom on top of this
MS needs to purchase some tech studios for their Game Stack. Because while Epic is getting all that middleware, they don’t have that all encompassing solution that MS provides with Windows, Office, Workflow (forgot how it is called), Game Stack and so on. Sadly Adobe too expensive, but from other tool collection they could get Houdini or something.
MS already bought Simplygon, Playfab and Havok.
I could see them purchasing Improbable.io or Hadaen to add to Gamestack to help with these MMO style of games.
Summary- helping devs with playfab, Azure and the rest of Gamestack also important for Xbox.
Actually he makes sense for 4 posts and then dismisses an acquisition.
Which cannot be done in a world where Azure is super important. If your company is critical from an Azure perspective, then it is important to MS
I think his main point was that Microsoft wants test up similar agreements this with everyone they possibly can. That doesn’t mean that everyone that establishes a relationship like this will inevitably be acquired.
I don’t want to derail this thread, is there somewhere that fits talking about Azure and Microsofts gaming initiatives.
This is dependent on the size of their contribution to Azure .
Nothing is inevitable or a certainty… Which we all agree.
But if you are contributing and having a huge influence on a certain important section of the cloud market, then that might be a good fit.
And it would be declared a good fit by more than just the Xbox team within MS. That is my point.
Most of these Azure offerings are under Playfab. I don’t think there is a thread for that.
